I can't seem to find any Disruptor Beam Array Mk XII on the exchange. Even when I use as many specific searches as possible all I get are Polarized Disruptors, no straight Disruptors.

I noticed that too. Normal Disruptors are scarce for some reason at the moment. All you find are lower tiers or Nanite or Polarized (My personal fav and what I use on my Klingon).
That being the case, unless you're specifically trying to make some sort of cannon or specialty build, there's really no reason to hold out for regular Disruptors over one of the others.
The "special" Nanite and Polarized work just fine and still do everything a regular Disruptor does (including it's normal damage resist proc), just with an added little proc tossed in.

They both have a reduced-strength disruptor proc, and the polarized also have 1 less available mod. When it comes to beams, Spirals leave the competition in the dust. Otherwise go with Elachi disruptors or Elite Fleets.
That's because they're tagged as Vice Admiral instead of RAUH. It's very inconsistent with space weapons.
Its not inconsistent at all. The mk 12 lockbox weapons are ranked lower so that it would be possible to get them at level 50. Normally mk12 stuff drops at level 54 and above.
And yes, normal mk12 weapons are naturally very rare on the exchange. They only drop in kerrat and elite stf. Its no wonder the lockobx stuff is more common, especially for disruptors which have already appeared in 3 different lockboxes.

Every space disruptor weapon in game has a -10 dmg resistance proc. Yes there's 1 less mod with hybrids but that's the trade off. Sorry but there's no such thing as "reduced-strength disruptor proc."

Actually, the Polarized weapons have the full disruptor and polaron procs, but sacrifice a mod.
The Nanite disruptors, however, still have 3 mods, but the disruptor mod component is halved (in uptime or effectiveness, I forget which).

For some reason one or both of those settings doesn't always apply itself correctly.

OK my bad...The nanite disruptors have a -5 dmg resistance and is the exception to the rule...
