Content Creation Issues

I have been wanting to try my luck in making a Foundry Mission, but every time I try, I keep getting an error saying that Character Content Creation Failed or Just Content Error. What is going on exactly?

Some questions to help me see what's going on:

Is your account a Gold (Subscriber) or Silver (Free) account?

If it's Silver, have you purchased Foundry Project Slots?

When do you get the error?
- When trying to create a Foundry character?
- When clicking Create Content with an existing Foundry character?
- When clicking New Project or Edit Project from the Welcome to the Foundry screen?
- Other?

I thought I did post this in the Foundry Forum. And to crypticfrost. I reviewed those questions before I posted this and NONE of those are helpful

It might help us if you make a screenshot of every step you take, and the specific error you get.
People need information where to look, before things can be done.

I can tell you exactly what happens. I go to log in, I click on Create Content, I pick New Character, I say I dont care what Race, name, or anything that is added, I just want a character created, But I do try to make a Fed toon for the Foundry. I click Create Content, and get a Character Creation Failed each and every time

It sounds like there might be some data corruption or something but I can't say for certain. At this point all I can recommend is to either contact Customer Service and see what they can do to help, or you might try to completely uninstall the game, make sure all related folders are removed and then re-install it so as to make sure everything on your system is patched and updated properly.

I have already attempted to contact the "wonderful" customer service people. All I got from them was to post my problem on to the foundry forums. The customer service department is not that helpful. And I have already attempted to un-install and re-install this game through arc and through steam. I have even had the game scan all the files to see if any of them were corrupted and there was nothing found. I still have the reply from them that I can copy and paste in here if you want to see it for yourself. But the PWE Customer Service department is about as helpful as a brick to the head at times

Do you have extra character slots? (Someone correct me if you don't need one to create a Foundry toon)

Yes. I have extra character slots. So that is not the issue.

Did you try making a Klingon? There used to be a problem that only affected Klingons, but I believe it's fixed. Maybe it's flipped.

I have tried both Fed and Klink for creating a foundry character. It keeps being TRIBBLE and says that TRIBBLE each and every time

How about make a character on the main server and see what happens. If that works delete it and try to make a foundry character.

My only other idea if that doesn't work is to try on another computer on another network. If that doesn't work either it sounds like something on your account is messed up.

Making a character for me isnt a problem. I have already made a Tact klingon no more then 2 weeks ago. And I am about to make a Fed Sci Caitian officer. So the issue of making a toon on the holodeck servers isn't in question. I can make toons off the tribble servers with no problem at all. But when it comes to starting a character off the holodeck for the content creation, it keeps failing

my @handle is the same as the one I am posting with here off the forums. It is lowercase L then the number 9 of 20 and that is all grouped together. So it is @l9of20. And I can say to you this. From some past issues I have had, it took forcing the CSD (customer service department) to escalate my issue to other members in order to actually get things done. The base level replies are honestly useless. I only say this because I use to be on their end of the screen replying to customers and the "canned" responses were never helpful. I use to do that for a wireless phone provider close to a year. After seeing those replies and knowing exactly what they were, I know how truly useless it actually is.

What makes things more interesting is right after I posted my last reply, I had a massive game crash. It was so bad in fact, that I sent a Dump Report to the servers of the entire game files. All 19.4 GB of data was sent in a Crash Dump Report to you guys.

OK, one more question. You're a Silver account, so that means you need to purchase Foundry Project slots to use the Foundry. Have you purchased any Foundry Project Slots?

No one ever told me that I HAD to buy slots to work on my own foundry mission. I have friends that are silver members and they have been able to do that with out buying slots as far as I know

If this is the case, I submit that it's a UI bug. Players should be informed about what they need to do to start making a foundry mission. If that information is not there, then it's a bug, in my opinion

Oh, yeah you need to do that. 10000 dilithium gets you 4 slots. Then from there you can buy 2 more slots for 7000 dilithium.

If this is the reason then maybe the error needs to be better. Not just "Can't create character errorr error!!!1!313!#%!" it should say something about not having paid to get in the Foundry

Yea. That is a bunch of Bulls*@!. If I have to pay to start creating foundry missions, then there needs to be a message about that fact. And their needs to be a message telling you where to go and so forth on how to get started on that fact. See, it is reasons like this that makes players mad.

(now it is time to vent)

You dont inform people that they have to pay to start making missions, your developers wont stop changing the damage calculations in game. Whenever you guys come up with some kind of "cool" idea, you guys dont listen to the players when we are all telling you that it doesnt work. Its annoying. I thought that was the whole reason for the tribble server. To test new ideas and updates, not force them on people and never truly fixing them.

Please calm down. To be fair, 10k dilithium for 4 project slots is not really a huge burden. It's like maybe 2 or 3 hours of playing the game. I think that they did this to try to prevent spam and stuff. Just play some Foundry missions and you'll get to 10k in no time. You don't have to spend a dime.

Its not the fact that I am mad about that fact. Annoyed, yes but not mad. I am mad because of everything else. This was just one of those moments that piled on and then everything just unloaded after that fact.

You guys have been playing this game for about as long as I have. I started back in 2011. And every time there was a major system update, something got messed up somewhere else in game. Then when that finally gets corrected, then a new update happens and something else gets messed up somewhere else in the game.
