cost of the ships (dilithium)

hi,

I'm a little bit fed up with dilithium cost of the ships, I have currently an haapax, and i'm not satisfied, so I decided to change it for an ha'nom, but 120000 points of dilithium, this is insane. if I want collect all this dilithium, I must stop all the other activities in game. (fleet, reputation etc)

that would be great to have also this ship retrofited (same thing for the ha'feh), and with an universal station (lieutenant at least)

the ha'nom is the only scientific ship, so please make it available at a reasonable cost (dilithium) or at least in the c-store

The mirror Ha'pax can be purchased with less than 2 hours effort in the game, over 2 days. It's probably one of the better ships.

I recently upgraded to the fleet ha'pax with nothing more than ec collected over a 2 week period.

    But 120,000 isn't that expensive.

Add seven fleet weapons, that's another 175,000 dilithium.

Add fleet consoles and a fleet singularity core.... well, you get the idea.

At the end of the day, 120K in dilithium is 2 weeks of dil grinding for the average toon.

    That's 15 days of maximum refining. 7.5 for 2 characters, 5 for 3 characters, 3.75 for 4...

It takes a bit of hard work, sure, but it's achievable.

Your not being exactly truthful there.

The reputation projects as far as I recall do not require dilithium, in fact they reward dilithium.

6 of the Starbase projects (Tier 1 & up) also cost no dilithium. As for the holdings (embassy and mine), and Starbase major upgrades, yes they will stall without it.

Once you reach your daily refining capacity, you can continue to collect resources and engage in activities that help advance you in the rep/sb grind.

And if time is your biggest enemy, Cryptic will gladly relieve you of some of your hard earned real world cash.... around $10.50 at the time of this posting.

    Best of luck.

Buy Mirror ships on the exchange for EC or just a 1 time C-Store purchase that is account wide (like Cpt. lvl Escort/BoP so you don't have the deal with the D'D).

The high dil cost helps feed the dil exchange. Fat chance Cryptic will shut down a source of income. Like others have said use mirror ships at 40 until you decide what you want and then go back and get the standard issue ship for a toon. Outside of KDF mirror ships are dirt cheap.

Farming 120k Dil isn't that bad on a character. I just spend over 200K on my Klingon to get the K'Tinga Retrofit from my Fleet store. It took me about 2 months of farming to get it though since I don't get on every day. That was using the Deferia run, astroid mining, and hitting every duty officer duty I can. And no the Fleet I'm in don't have a Fleet mine going yet. So I couldn't go there.

Curious, how did you purchase a Fleet ship with EC?

Buy the Fleet Ship Modules off the exchange. The average price is ~5 million (give or take a hew hundred thousand).
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

If anything, the dil costs of the weapons are too HIGH. It shouldn't cost more to outfit the ship than the ship itself.

Quite true, especially since the consoles and warp cores are far cheaper by comparison.

As a Romulan scientific captain, you really have an advantage over other factions if you adopt the science-escort style on a Fleet T'Varo. I've argued in this thread about escorts why and how science captains make no concession by flying some escorts (not any escort). The T'Varo enhanced battle cloak makes this argument twice as strong for Romulans scientist as for others.

Another incentive to go that way is that the Ha'nom is not a very good science ship (and it's the only one available to Romulan scientist). When compared with the good options available to Federation scientists (the Vesta) or Klingons scientists (Vo'Quv and Kar'fi carriers), the Romulan scientist must turn to an expensive ship (as outlined in this table of top-quality science vessels). Instead of spending 120k dilithium on a rear-admiral ship, you'd better consider spending 2000 zen (220k dilithium at the normal rate, currently a little more than that) to unlock the T'Varo retrofit for all Romulan characters on your account.

They're under reward packs. And their rarity is rare to very rare (depending on the ship).
