"My mind... to your mind..."

Yes, this is really possible.

Research scientists at the University of Washington linked their brains together using a computer interface and one was able to move the other's hand.

Science fiction? Not anymore...

body is a biological machine after all.... with the amount of data we can manipulate these days as it is....not surprising at all.

you are only the sum of your elements and the energy you are borrowing from the universe in order to keep it animated.

the brain is only so complicated....we have figured a large portion of it out already.

I'm still waiting for the day I can be uploaded to a cybernetic body. That way, when a joint fails, I can just replace the silly thing.

Heck, I'd settle for remote-controlling a cybernetic avatar...

Considering the potential for abuse that being able to control someone elses body has, I wouldn't exactly call it a conspiracy theory kind of thing. Remember, for everything you can invent, there is someone out there who is quite willing to use it for its most negative applications. Something to keep in mind for the future

Sorry, Science is busy working on power plants run by MAN-MADE TORNADOS and ROBOTS THAT EAT MEAT for fuel.

As soon as Science finished with these terrifying creations, I'm sure it'll get to work on those rocket packs so you can escape from them. ;)

Man made tornado... Cobra would be proud

And meat eating robots.... why don't they just create Zombies because that would make more sense somehow. lol

They have till 2015 to fulfill the 1985 prophecy, then they can go back to planning the End of the World theme.

They already have the shoes. Nike just needs to invent the self-lacing bit, though I have to wonder if they're holding that off until 2015 to spring the surprise.

Of course, you're referencing the board, though. Have you ever gone through the 2015 scenes to see just how many items and background stuff have come to pass or are in the works? It's really a lot of fun. We didn't get Miami, but we did get a Florida baseball team.

And back to the OP...first carjacking, now bodyjacking?

A great quote I stole from Twitter:

"If you're under 60, you weren't promised flying cars. You were promised an oppressive cyberpunk dystopia. Here you go."

This is bad. It's cool, but it's bad.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

It makes me sad that the most exciting scientific breakthroughs are usually ruined by the realization that human beings are inherently dangerous.

Top speed, 70mph. Flight time, 33sec. Talk about a hugely entertaining way to kill yourself (although I'd still rather flip a Bugatti convertible into a Las Vegas hotel swimming pool at 200+mph...)

And then jet turbine powered models... yeesh.

I think I'll hold out for plasmadynamic levitation.
