This is a repost of the uniforms I posted in the "What do you consider canon uniforms" thread.

Now, these uniforms are based on the lovely and awkwardly revealing Vulcan female that adorned the STO website when New Romulus was released. Without any further ado, here it all is.

Well, I just hope you guys like the uniforms. They've been on my officers (minus my Orion tactical and Orion medical officer) for awhile and I wanted to share them ;)

he's long gone, as I recall he left around season 4 in protest of the Omega armor costumes. but you can post your uniforms on STOwiki.

By the way, science and Med are the same department, shouldn't they be the same color?

Actually... I thought about this, but I separated them because not all science officers want to be medical officers. I have wrapped my brain over this for awhile, and I decided to diversify the Science/Medical departments. If you look at your duty officers, under "Department Heads", you have Tactical, Security, Medical, Science, Engineering, Operations. Now while some consider these to be the same, I consider them to be different. On an Odyssey-class starship (which is where I would assume the Odyssey uniform comes from), officers with separate departmental skills are a little more better at their different tasks than a handful that can do everything.

    That's why I separated them.

As for STO wiki, I will attempt to post these uniforms there.

    This is the basis, right?

Personally, I go more by how the uniform is represented for the short time Elisa Flores dons it while on bridge duty.

First I grab the Sierra 1 preset. That'll give me my default uniform colors, along with department colors as well.

Second, I switch Upper to the Odyssey uniform.

Third, I either go for the Odyssey pants, or the Starfleet Academy Skirt. The Starfleet Academy skirt actually matches extraordinarily well with the materiel used with the Odyssey upper portions. If it's pants, I don't change colors. If it's the skirt, I'll colormatch the skirt with the upper body, the main color being identical, the larger vertical stripe being darker, and the more slender stripes having department color.

Then, if I went Odyssey pants, I grab the Odyssey shoes - no color changes needed. Or, I grab the Starfleet Academy higher-heels boots - whom have the perk of matching very well with the rest of the outfit - and apply department colors to that little triangle that's pointing down from the side of the knee.

The 26th fleet made the white and black uniform our standard years ago. We love it. It looks so crisp and modern. Looks star trek without having to ape the colour styles of Ds9 or TNG. Its its own thing. Like how when you see a solid colour shirt you know its TOS, I like to think that when you see those white shoulders you think STO 2409

You must be in a Fleet, then visit your Fleet Starbase and go to the Tailor. There you buy the costume with Fleetcredits and Dilithium. The Starbase must be Tier 3 and the Tailor has to be unlocked.

I don`t think you have to be in a fleet even... just have some fleet credits and dilithium and get yourself an invite to a T3+ starbase to buy it.

I use the Odyssey uniform, but with some modifications. First, I don't use department colors. You don't want a hidden enemy taking shots at your team medic before you even make contact, so no teal stripe across the upper chest. Instead, it is a dark red for all. Also, both upper and lower portions are black. The border striping is silver and I use the AGT commbadge.

    My variation.

Ah, good. Don't think our fleet has the tailor unlocked, but I'm glad it doesn't require I buy that hulking monstrosity.

Our Uniformcode is pretty similar to the one used for the NPC's on ESD.

    3rd Fleet Uniform Code

    We made that years ago.

A tip for thoose that want the uniform but their fleet doesent have the tailor unlocked. Hit up any player that is member of a fleet with tailor unlocked and ask them for an invite to their fleetstarbase. You can buy the Uniform from their store then. Doesent cost the fleet any provision and you can unlock it for yourself ;)

Still surprised people don't use the Academy skirt along with the Odyssey top for female characters. The Starfleet Academy skirt meshes in seamlessly with the Odyssey uniform material-wise.

I keep meaning to get round to that - but I hate intruding to say "Hi, I don't want to know you or anything - just wanted to raid your stash!" Maybe I'm overly polite (or overly British) but I just feel rude.

Most in my fleet aren't that bothered so it's low priority, but it's close to a design I'm mocking up for Expo... and it's cheaper seeing if I like it in game than to buy loads of fabric :p

I generally find that the recent canon uniforms are too much black, black, more black, even more black, extra black, and a scrap of color, then grey, and some more black. Really folks there are colors out there besides black, and with some creativity you can make a more visually distinct looking uniform that isn't garish.

    Hey all,

As you can probably guess, Thomas the Cat wasn't able to finish the official Dev Blog the other day. He did, however, put up an official breakdown on the subreddit forum: http://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/23x9t8/unofficial_s9_ody_uniform_variants/ch218ya (Ignore the "Unofficial" title. The thread started out as someone guessing the official colors and Thomas correcting it with the official ones).

Maybe it's just me, but skirts don't strike me as an appropriate choice for toons or BOffs to be wearing while on away missions. Dress uniforms, of course, are another matter.

Unfortunately there aren't that many other "neutral" colors that go together equally well with all three department colors. Black and gray do, which is why we've seen one or both of those colors alongside the department colors in most canon Trek uniforms.

Just also want to say how much I love the Odyssey-type uniforms and I look forward to seeing the devs standardising them all over STO but I also very much hope that they make these uniforms more than just an award to be unlocked by joining a fleet. They really should be in the tailors ready to be put on at any time for FREE.

I hope that is a joke. A LOT of people doesnt like odyssey uniforms (me included) i had it since ages ago and i never used it, because it is too plain, simple and well, ugly. It is a question of taste. Nothing more, so no, dont ask cryptic to make it a standard in STO, because that will be a HUGE mistake, again.

Now, of course i agree that they should be free. As a standard unfiform. That is a nother story lol.

Well, I don't know about "A LOT". I haven't seen "A LOT" of people complaining about it. In fact, I've seen more compliments than complaints. Not sure where you're getting your polling numbers. But they've already said that they are making it the standard across the game. It's just going to take time to roll it out to the rest of the game. So get ready, because it's coming. ;)

I went with a black - dark tone, with an H6 shoulder tone, the seam line stripe denoting department of command instead, giving the Ody uni, a more of a later season DS9 TNG movie (First Contact / Insurrection / Nemesis,) feel and quality. Looks actually quite sharp on my crew.

As such, I for one, am 'not' in the A LOT camp, to be fully certain. it's between this set, and the Jupiter set, as my favorite uniform sets of choice, the Dyson uni set following after. (Only because you can't put uniform rank and comm badges onto the Spire set.)
