Reduce the size and/or collision box of the larger Romulan ships

Some of the new Romulan ships are entirely too huge and their collision boxes are far too large.

I'm not a Trekkie, but I do understand that the D'deridex is canon and should be big, perhaps a couple of the others ones as well. However, the Ha'apax isn't canon, is freakin' gigantic and has far too large a collision box.

I wouldn't care except that I end up blocking, and getting blocked by, other ships while flying around in sector space. It's *not* a huge deal, but it IS annoying. And then there's the thing where I or someone else in one of these massive ships zones in and we do this vertical or horizontal slide until we hit the sector / instance boundary.

All that said, I haven't discussed this with anyone else and I haven't heard anyone else complaining (I turned off zone chat a long time ago), so maybe it's just me. *shrug* Still, I doubt I'm the only one.

Well, the double D and the mogai/valdore are sized according to canon. But some of the cryptic designs could use some scaling down.

But in general, the game itself needs longer distances, space, sector space, combat etc. Its way to crowded and the majesty of the big ships is lost entirely.

I made this request back during closed beta, but no one listened.

It is somewhat crowded in spawn places.

I really wouldn't mind scaling down the collision boxes of the larger warbirds (Mogai and upwards). The most annoying part is how 'high' the collision boxes are for them. I guess it's because of the rolling on turning, otherwise your wings could end up in someone's belly. But it'd be probably better than the enormous collision boxes.

The size of the Ha'... warbirds is another matter. They truly are gigantic. But I'm not sure a resize would be an elegant solution, again, just lowering the collision boxes would be great.

This definitely needs to be done in sector space if nothing else.

I think Cryptic should take a page from many other MMORPG, and have collision detection turned off completely in sector space and between players in social areas(ESD, Qo'nos, etc).

From my experience, if you turn on evasive in a D'D, hit warp plasma, and burn straight at your target ship, the collision box is so large you'll fly under the target by such a wide margin the warp plasma won't actually touch the target.

Or, they just widen the spawn zones. That will help the overcrowding.

remove collision detection in sector space and instead of packing the ships in a single place, make them warp a little farther away from each other in sol, qo'nos and new romulus.

Well, this might sound crazy, but hear me out; I play Star Trek Armada 2 from time to time, and it didn't feel... "spacey" enough. So, what I did was, I modded the game, to reduce the scale of all the ships, starbases, projectiles, etc. while leaving the ship speeds the same. It made it much less crowded.

I really would like it if they reduced the scale in sector space, it would make it feel bigger, like travelling through a vast area of the galaxy, which is what it SHOULD be like. Your ship's speed would not be changed, just the size of the ship. This would be much better in my opinion. Just something to think about. Space is supposed to be a very big place. As Carl Sagan would say, "BILLIONS and BILLIONS of light years across."
