C-Store Giveaway event feedback

a bit late i know since the event finished a while ago but thought id give some honest feedback to the event and leave some suggestions if PWE/cryptic decide to do it again some time in the future.
First off the event as a whole in my eyes was a huge success, something for newer folks and something for the lvl 50's even if they dont play science it is there if they decide to try out the sci class later whenever they want to.
now here are some suggestions for next time.
when the outfits were given away for the first 2 days it was pretty much catered feddy only for this part where the rest was a good 50/50 split for both feddy and KDF.
I honestly would instead of the uniforms given something more universally useful.
Maybe not immediately usefull but something that can be used by ANYONE like a character respec token per character or a rep respec token or even a bank slot increase token. it would still have been around the same C-store range and could be used by everyone including the Romulans and everyone would most likely have been happy.
as a slightly more "out there" suggestion another idea i had would have been for the lvl 50 give away give the option to unlock ONE and ONLY ONE per faction of one of the 3-peice ships ( odyssey and Bortas'q) as an unlock, as soon as you unlock one you will not be able to unlock the other two, this would give a solid option to folks who are only interested in one style of play.
other than that the event was aweosme, i just made myself a new sci toon for the nebula i was given ( loved that ship from the show) so im gunna level like crazy to hop into it so many many thanks for the giveaway event PWE/Cryptic.
PS: if someone from the dev team could post whether this was a PWE event or a Cryptic event would be cool.

The options you are suggesting definitely fulfill the first point but they would definitely hurt sales. Though I would support you for ONE single skill respec token for ONE character of your choosing on your account.
To do giveaways for that kind of item properly they'd have to get new shop tech and that wouldn't make the whole thing worthwhile for them anymore.
So, you are stuck to items that are account wide unlocks and can only be bought once.
Hell even my Romulan toons got a few items that were useable with the giveaway.
It would be awesome if next year or when they get more available goods for the Romulan faction to maybe have another go at a week of free goodies again. We shall see and hope, but TY anyways Cryptic

On the other hands Romulans have no bridge packs and no choices on ships without going to the zen store.

yea but the romulan interior and bridge is 1000X better than the klingon and somewhat more than the fed bridges and interiors so i think it more than makes up for the lack there off but cant wait to see what extra ones they bring out... sure as hell beats the few consoles in the corner of a widened out corridor for the starter bridges and the highway going round my ship on the crew deck :-P
I for once I thank Cryptic for giving these out. I had all the stuff anyway since I'm a Lifer and been doing this since beta. I have no need for the freebies and just appreciate the GESTURE (first time ever) and good decision in the right direction:D
That being said, I do have a few suggestions for next time that I think would allow it to be even better received.
1) Give out a master key. They did it once on the Ferengi lockbox, but haven't since. I can personally tell you it gave me a taste and got me to immediately purchase a 10 pack. I haven't spent any of my own money on keys since. With the key sale going on, zen bonus, end of one lockbox and start of a new one, it seems to me this could have spurred more key sales.
2) Make a customer's choice day where the player can either choose from a pre-selected assortment of items, or just give out zen so the player can use it as they see fit. Lessens the dating of "I already bought that."
3) Make a preview day, where they give out an upcoming c store item early.
4) Allow players to claim ships as a bound reward pack regardless of rank. They did that w/ the 2nd Anniv Oddy, which sat in my bank until I reached Vice Admiral and could open it up.
Still, thanks for the giveaways and a fun summer event. Look forward to the new FE, Season 8 and the return of the Winter event.
Just about the only suggestion I'd make would have been to give the klingons a little more love on one of the first two days.
Perhaps, instead of a costume, on the second day we'd get a choice of bridge packs.
Other than that, loved the whole thing.
People actually buy these things. They'll only hand out the rejects that aren't selling.;)
I think offduty uniforms would be more balanced as rewards for these and the seasonal events going forward because they apply to all factions... although maybe there was a fear that giving the Romulans much of anything would discourage Romulan C-Store purchases.
No, they can't. The free respecs are given to every character, regardless of whether they log in or not. One of the points of the giveaway was to get people to log-in and claim the item manually.

How long have you worked in development at Cryptic?
The Uniform is great! I expected that and even though I am not a collector or giant fan of older uniforms, I really like it that you gave it away for free.
I missed the Shuttles but I don't care about them at all. (and the second uniform, I don't like it, so again, no big deal for me)
Now a negative for the Team:
You won't get my money for the Nebula anymore
I wanted to buy it since ages, but hadn't a sci char ready for it, so it got delayed, and now it's free
Even better: You gave us the Rhode Island, right when my sci toon reached the level for it! Thank you very much! It's a great ship!
I hope you keep doing such give aways, it also made me start playing STO a little bit again, since I was taking a break.
Be honest with yourself. You weren't about to buy the Nebula to begin with.;)
Not even the people who got it for free were using it, just 2 days later.
