(includes Skills, which probably need respec'ing)
Greetings, fellow Captains. I'm looking for any advice that you might have to improve my build, particularly with regard to weapon type and BOff layout. Primarily, this ship is built for PvE, but if it works in PvP that's great too.
* Am I wasting my time with the DBB - should I switch it for some form of Cannon? What ability would I put in the Tac Ens slot instead of BO1?
* Should I use single Cannons or Dual Cannons instead of Dual Heavy?
* Would it be better to have APB2 instead of APO1?
* Should I get rid of either of the Isometric Charge/Theta Radiation consoles? Put them in different slots? I also have a Barrier Field Generator and Point Defence console if either of them are particularly useful.
* Should I swap AtSIF3 for DEM3 and vice-versa?
Energy Damage type: I know Disruptor and/or Plasma are recommended for many PvE builds, but I wanted to do something a bit different with this ship, hence I chose Polaron.
Torpedoes: Hargh'peng is fun for its DoT and explosion - plus the colour happens to match too. The rear launcher will be swapped for a Kinetic Cutting Beam once I've acquired it. Does the Projectile Weapons Officer DOff work on these torpedoes?
Fleet gear: I can't really afford much of it right now as I don't have many Fleet Credits or much Dilithium. I could possibly afford a console or deflector/engine/shield, but I'm not looking to get a set of Fleet weapons.
Devices: I will probably swap the Scorpion Fighters for the Nimbus Pirate Distress Signal later.
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.

I'd say DHC's for this ship, only if you can handle it. I find helping with APO1, EPTE1 and constant use of Evasive Maneuvers does help point them... not to mention an RCS console helping as well. Trust me, DHC's are worth it on this ship
The rest, is up to you (notes at the end of the build btw)

The Beam Overload I have slotted is a bit hit-and-miss. It's nice when it Criticals, but otherwise it uses a lot of power for sub-optimal results. I may experiment with changing it to Beam: Target Engines. The Kinetic Cutting Beam is highest on my list of priorities to acquire; having two Hargh'peng torpedoes is proving less effective than I predicted due to a shared 10 second global cooldown (even when mounted front and rear) - and most of the time I try to have the target in my forward arc anyway.
The rest of the BOff abilities are working well, though I might get rid of DEM2 in favour of EPtS3, and swapping EPtS1 for EPtW/E1. Defensively, the ship has proved capable of tanking just about everything an elite STF can throw at it (except for Hive Elite, haven't tried yet); however the use of heals requires more intelligent application to avoid being caught with everything on cooldown (in comparison, a traditional Fed Cruiser is more forgiving).
Point - 1 = yes unless your using BO2/3 it's a waste and even then without a way to offset power drain your other weapons will suffer
Point 2 - it's a battle cruiser emphasis on battle dhcs come as standard
Point 3 - APB is king in stfs
Point 4 - the fewer universal/cheese consoles the better however both those consoles offer great cc
Point 5 - most definitely empts3 is awesome and if your survivability is good now then switch in dem3
The best fleet gear I've ever bought is the adaptive fleet shields but then again mkX maco are half the price and can handle anything an stf can throw at them the new rcs mine consoles are great too and mkX are relatively low cost
