I have a few ideas for an STF using tactics that aren't as generic as wall of healers.
Warp in to find: Enhanced Tactical Cube
~Stats:
3million Health
250k Shields
The cube uses Emergency to Shields 3 and Hazzard Emmiters. While it calls for reinforcements
Every minute more borg enter the system:
4 Probes /minute for this phase of the fight.
Cue the cutscene, The cube has 4 "generators" Warp in.
These generators project a shield on the cube, removing all bleedthrough from the cubes shielding and greatly fortifying it.
Unlike other STFs these generators cant be destroyed. The goal here is to Disable the 4 generators so you can damage the cube...
The cube at this point is back at 100% HP, and it will NOT regenerate Hull anymore.
To disable a generator you must Get it down to 0% Health (~350k HP) and have THREE players interact with it.
From here, it gets chaotic, Every 2 minutes new mobs will warp in:
0 Gens down:
4 Probes 1 Repair Probe 2 Spheres
(Repair Probes job is to get the generators back online, if they aren't destroyed they can reactivate a Generator in 15 seconds, Then will begin to heal it to 100% over 15s.)
1 Gen Down: 3 Probes 2 Repair Probes 3 Spheres
2 Gen Down: 0 Probes 3 Repair Probes 5 Spheres 1 Cube (cube every 4 minutes)
Probes will be generally weak, Easy to destroy, minimal damage, their job is to absorb fire from AOEs and Mines. They will perpetually FAW.
Repair Probes: Same stats as probes except they don't attack, they will always fly tward the generators and repair. These are the center of aggro. Any player shooting 1 generates massive aggro with all other borg in the system.
Spheres: Strong, they will endevour to protect the Repair Probes and fire on any player who attempts to destroy them. (Reduced Damage from normal Spheres and no Torpedos or EPTE)
Cubes: These guys are here to hurt. with 500k hull and Shield healing skills they are a force to be reckoned with, they are here to HOPEFULLY aborb player aggro from less Coordinated teams.
When the generators are down, now the Tactical Cube will begin to fire again, It will also take damage, and will NOT be healing its shields. The goal is to destroy the cube before the generators can get repaired. When the cube finally reached 10% it calls in 12 Repair Probes. These probes will ALL go after one of the 4 generators at once. they will stay together and focus on keeping the cube alive. This group of 12 drones will respawn every 2 minutes along with the normal group.
The point of this STF is for fun, its a large combat intensive STF with a lot of explosions and action. Unlike the other stfs which are basicly sHoot at stationary target for 4 minutes, win, this one has a lot of moving targets that cant be controlled.
AND because the generators only fortify the cube, you CAN Destroy the cube without ever toutching the generatros, you will just be shooting thru a massive wall of shielding.
(Numbes of NPCs based on How Easy it is to deal with Spheres in Infected, and old STFs like infected spawning in 40 things AT ONCE)
And this STF is more based off Stratagy > Damage, BECAUSE all borg in this STF are NON Elite. The borg will be using heals, and they wont have their elite OMG 10848147014 damage Torpedos
sound like the crystalline entity map just with cube, wich really fits borg ships as even a single cube should be OP itself, sound much better than the current into hive as that would be more like a 20 player event with hundreds of cubes(i know, i know, but even as game, sending in 5 ships to deal with queen at the unimatrix is a big slap in the borgs face and complete ruin of their reputation). So your super tac cube should replace the current into the hive, but IMO i should use a few aspects of the queens wide array of skills, giving it the assimilation beam that copies the 3 strongest skills of a random player for a period of time, as borgs main purpose is to assimilate tech and adapting, i'd rather see this skill on it then no-end reinforcements that low dps team would not be able to deal with. I hope some1 from cryptic takes your idea seriously
