ok so I have finally upgraded all of my weapons to fleet gear.. only had to because 4 FED chars and a klink were ALL [borg] moded weapons.. the nerf means that only the probes take the bonus damage????? So since my investment of time and dilithium etc. means absolutely nothing and these mk XII purple weapons are all 2 mods only... can we PLEASE get a trade in option to get at least something back from all the effort it took to get these weapons (yes I have been on since launch).
The Borg Modifier was only working on certain Borg npcs. I believe it worked fine on the Probes, Spheres, and Cubes, but unique Borg npcs like those found in Cure Space did not. So they gave us the choice to get a passive power that is better than the Borg modifier due to it working against every npc and not just Borg.

The [Borg] weapons don't work any worse than they used to. It's just that they never worked on certain mobs, and after some attempts to fix it, which didn't take, they decided to change the system so that mobs wouldn't need to be specially flagged.
If you continue to use the [Borg] weapons, they'll still work with the same effectiveness they did before, giving increased damage to all the mobs it did before - which of course isn't every single actual Borg you fight, that being the whole reason the system was discontinued.

Not sure it works at all anymore. I still have and use for the moment the [Borg] proc on my Oddy, and I don't see it working anymore.

The other choice is a shield regen buff so it amounts to do you want to be tougher or deadlier. The shield regen buff was insane when it came out. Think they added an extra 0 or two to the amount it healed you for. So instead of 288 it was more like 2880 or 28800.
Just want to point out that I have seen my [Borg] weapons making 1000s appear above ships in CSE... so the proc does work on them (of course, I've since replaced my weapons with fleet versions, so I don't know if it got borked again).

That's debatable about being better the rep power procs 95% less often than the old Borg torpedoes and mines. Sometimes I think the devs do not like mines or torps with, just take a look at the useless broken fleet mines.

I still use several only because the performance difference between a mark 12 [borg] weapon and a mark 12 purple replacement is pretty darn small. Much less than the mountains of EC I get from selling mark 12 purple drops.
the [borg] modifier still works the way it did back in S5 for me as in barely, i've seen some ships equiped with it and a run of CSE produced 38k dmg for them where the omega rep passive was twice that, they haven't been nerfed they were just never great to start with

Also, did anyone else get caught with a bunch of Mark "xx" requisitions when the changeover occurred? I was kicking myself for weeks! All of the weapons and gear I could have stockpiled for my various builds!

Still have a full set of Mark 12 Polaron Beams in my Bank, and with the full MACO, Adapted MACO and Omega Mark 12 sets. Just can't make myself throw them out...
The issues if I recall them correctly (and that's a mighty big IF) were down to them not procing as frequently as they were supposed to. Their printed stats are a 7.5% per shot for 1k damage. On the most basic weapon layout of 6 beam arrays that should have equated to around 500 dps, or 30k damage contribution per minute of STF duration. This never seemed to match reality.
