Anyone know anything on whether they are going to introduce a Bajoran ship?

Wait didn't the Bajoran only have fighter class ships the size of a runabout. Am sure when they finished with the big players, they will do that. if you know what I mean.

By the time of DS9 the Bajoran Militia actually had some ships larger than fighters...but they were sublight only and at best got a chickle out of the Romulans in "Shadows and Symbols".
However we do know the Bajorans refugees from TNG had somehow managed to get out of their star system. Also, the Bajoran colony in the Gamma Quadrant must have been established SOMEHOW. Either they out-sourced the transportation of the colonists and materials to someone else or they must at least have had access to FTL freighters of some sort. Possibly the militia was restricted to STL because they were meant to only protect the Bajoran home sytem...kinda like old naval monitors.
But I'm pretty sure by the time of STO they most certainly must have built some actually functional FLT ships again. This could open up some room to design something new for Cryptic.

Bajorans have no starship-building tradition and joined the Federation before developing one, so there's no reason there would be a Bajoran-made starship. They would thus simply use Federation ships instead of building their own.

Bajorans made one of the first interstellar voyages in a solar sailing ship. Sisko built a replica and made it to Cardassia in it. Coincidentally the Cardassians found the remains of the original ship around the same time.

According to the episode of DS9 they made that Voyage in Earths 14th century if memory serves.

And no there is no way it would be a combat capable craft. It had hand operated sails.

    Bajorans don't need FTL ships

Their STL ships can already cross in excess of 50,000 light years.

    Trust in the Prophets..... :)

Their military is more ground combat then space combat savvy. So I would think the ship that Cryptic would introduce would be more of a "hands on approach" being geared for boarding parties with fighter support

The Bajorans are not a spacefaring people, no tradition of shipbuilding, no tradition of even having a navy.

They have a tradition of being subjugated by a larger power though... Cardassians, now the Federation :D

It's canon-ality is questionable but the novel Antimatter has the Bajorans building a Fed ship like the do in the Pine-verse movie; ie on land instead of in space. Prior to the occupation they did have the capability to build their own ships, but keep in mind they had everything razzed to the ground when the Cardassians moved in.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.

While we never see them on screen in DS9 we hear mention of Bajoran ships, There's an episode of TNG that involves Picard escorting a Bajoran ship and it was sublight only.

I would say they have ships they just aren't war ships, the Cardassian fleet is just that. With Bajor being part of the Federation in game they would use Federation ships for Science and Defence with maybe some freighters or transports for Civilian use.

Going by the Starfleet Prime Directive to even be eligible for help from the Federation Bajor had to be a Warp capable culture. Now I don't know if they stole the tech from the Occupation or not but they had Warp technology when Cardassia pulled out. And so Starfleet helped them out by running DS9.

As has been stated above, the Bajoran have a long shipbuilding tradition, otherwise Sisko would've never met Akorem Laan, for example.

Moreover, they were warp capable when they made first contact with the Federation in the late 2260s. (TOS novel Allegiance in Exile)

During the blockade of their moon against the Romulans, there were several different types of craft, though I don't know whether all of them were sublight only.

There's no reason the Bajorans or their militia couldn't have developed warp capable ships of their own by 2409.

The thing is in the bajorans case the prime directive does not apply sure they are not warp capable but their entire culture had already been comprimised by DS9 era.

so it isnt like they were being forced by the federation to catch up the cardassians already did that with the occupation.

also bajorans are deeply traditional so in their culture they werent pushing for warp capabilities they had already traveled to another planet (oddly enough cardassia ) in a bajoran ship powered by solar sails.

FALSE. In DS9, we see the Bajoran Cruiser, the Bajoran interceptor, and the Bajoran raider. However, only the Cruiser was known to be Warp-capable. Also, in the TNG Episode "Parallels", we hear reference to a Bajoran warship that (in an alternate reality) was warp-capable and heavily-enough armed to pose a threat (if only minor) to a Galaxy-class starship. It is plausible, if unlikely, that Prime Bajoran technology would also be capable of this, as there's no doubt that some Bajorans eventually worked on Cardassian systems and would know how to reverse-engineer the tech. Also, considering the Bajorans joining the Federation, it isn't hard to assume that Bajoran ships would have been brought to par with Federation technology to assist Starfleet. If we DID see a Bajoran ship in-game, I'd probably peg it as a low-tier Cruiser, or possibly a Frigate (for Lieutenants).

I think they can decide that for themselves. We'd have to determine whether they exist or not.:P

DAX: In the twenty-second century, a ship carrying Kai Taluno was disabled for several days in the Denorios Belt, where he claims he had a vision.
SISKO: Let me guess. He saw the Celestial Temple of the Prophets.
DAX: Not quite, but he did say that the heavens opened up and nearly swallowed his ship.

I'd say their "tradition" which existed since the time of these things

    http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Bajoran_lightship

in the 16th century was simply unterrupted.
This is not different from the French who had no military development while they were occupied by ther Germans.

    <Corjet> "I am of Bajor" :?) <- Bajoran smile

Let me start off with this from TNG episode "Ensign Ro":

"Captain's log, supplemental. I read about the achievements of the ancient Bajoran civilization in my fifth-grade reader. They were architects and artists, builders and philosophers when Humans were not yet standing erect. Now I see how history has rewarded them."

Sure "we" are a 'religious' people... With all that's been said already - the people of Bajor or at least someone in the militia would say: "Well we were occupied by Cardassians whom had a battle fleet... Then the Dominion came walking through... We can't let any of that happen again!" That in itself would be one venue for the basis for Bajor to have FTL travel AND a Battle Fleet. Not to mention the importance of the wormhole and the need to defend it.

I always assumed Bajor had developed warp-capable ships, but didn't have the chance to build anything competitive with the other galactic powers before the Cardassians invaded.
You're right. The work here is very important.
