Why play KDF?

Romulans have been given practically every advantage in cloaking space combat, ground combat and their ships make the KDF vessels obsolete.

Cloak: They were given our B'rel enhanced battle cloak. They have battle cloaks on most of their escort types. Their captain racial and optional traits include SIGNIFICANT bonuses to cloak timers and damage/duration.

Ground: self explanatory. Just look at what they get.

Ships: All romulan ships have 'tier 6' type design. You simply cannot compare the performance of an = tier KDF and romulan ship.. its a gap in performance as vast there is between a Fed Nebula and Fed Vesta.

If that wasn't enough, we see the talshiar lockbox ships are literally making every tier 5 kdf ship obsolete when it comes to cruisers and escorts.

Our consoles will be available to romulans through the cross-faction consoles too.

So, really.. why would people bother joining the KDF these days? With the history of zero unique ships being made for KDF in the past 2+ years and the bulk of the kdf fleet being old releases and romulan ships having the 'tier 6' design at end game... well... you would only join KDF for the bloodwine.

Though I can understand the frustration about how the Romulans have better ships right now than any faction (I agree about that), yet my reason for playing as a few kdf characters is so that I can see what it's like to play on the kdf faction, just as I like to see what it's like to play on the Feds or Roms faction.

And also because of the different types of species there are.

I think that you are correct in that the Kdf ships could use a bit of a "tune-up" , in order to keep up with dealing with the roms and feds, and so seeing the B'rel retrofit perhaps carry 100 crew members and allow for a power-boost to all weapons by about 50%, or something, would be great to see.

It would also make sense for such an upgrade, as why wouldn't the kdf try and upgrade their ships as time goes on?

As for the fed side, well, they've got more ship options it seems than anyone. Logically so, since STO is about the Federation , primarily, as it should be.

Anyhow I still enjoy playing on the kdf side though, despite all that is said. And I find that the Bortasqu Tactical ship , provides more than enough fire-power and toughness to face against any enemy.

maybe is right question this : "Why play FEDS ?"

if i dont count far better campaign , Worf , ships .....

take a walk at Earth Spacedock .. and what u see ?

few sexual predators ( or desperate nerds ) with sexy avatars , thats not bad , we have our beloved Orion Slave girls ......

    but rest?
at Q'onos u may find noble Klingon warriors , pirates , smuglers etc ..... it's a really great place ....
but in space dock u may find only bunch of ..... metrosexual pseudo iron mans ....

Sorry bro but this is all a bunch of TRIBBLE.

The point is that all of our ships in each role is very underpowered compared to romulan and even with the federation ones.

All our stats are lower than federation and VERY MUCH lower than romulan.

come on guys do we have to talk here to make our point when facts speak for themselfs?? 5x tac slots 3x sci 2x enginer 5x fore weapons and 1x drone bay and combat cloack.....

If this isnt the holy marry of overpower then what it is?

Srsly i thought balance was important to keep a game alive it seems that this company is destroying balance more instead to optimize it.

    This is funny.....

First off, if I were your "bro", you wouldn't talk that way to me, you'd show respect, because I accept nothing less from anyone that I would even consider to be a brother.

Second, my opinion is Not now , nor is it ever

    .

My opinion of what I said, is True to what I feel. if you disagree with it, that's fine, but you can't convince me that what I said, is untrue.

Therefore, I have not changed my opinion. It is a good opinion, and much more mature than yours.

Perhaps someday, you'll learn to show more respect to others. Until then, good luck in life kiddo.

I just don't see it. I have PvP fought many rommy scims with my Tor'kaht and have not has them win one match yet. now if it had been one maybe 2 pilots you could possibly right off as pilot error . but im just not that good. and still beat them. even the risan corvett decked out with my build can take the scims out.

id like to get a 5th fore weapon slot but really all I see it doing is speeding up the kill not changing the outcome.

so many things id like to see added to kdf but if they just gave us one vertical 360deg torpedo launch slot where we would put what ever torpedo we wanted in it id be thrilled.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days. Ch'ar%20POST%20LoR.JPG

Ha ha. You sir deserve a prize. :) Wrong franchise definately, but the Romulan story arc is very D?j? vu I'll grant you. So if Sela is the Imperious Leader whos Baltar? Don't say its Tovan. :D

    Wait a second?

I thought that "remastered BSG" didn't use Imperious Leader, it was that council of hybrids that ran the shots for them...

However, if we're using "ToS BSG" with Imperious, then Hakeev would be Baltar :)
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]

Only in the pilot episode did they reference the Imperious Leader with the "By your command" comment. Rest of the time they just did the bickering council of hybrids thing.

But yes Hakeev would make a great John Collicos, Original BSG themed, one eyed Baltar with all the whining he does. :D

Flying my Vo'quv at times decends into BSG moments. I keep expecting to hear Adama over the comms "Launch the alert vipers". Although in reality its more like launch the BOP squadrons.

Getting back on actual topic though. KDF have Orion girls, Gorn that can really put the bite on people and we have some great ships. I totally love my Fleet K'tinga. :)

John Colicos, having played Baltar also played one of the original Klingons... Kor, who went out with style in DS9 with "Once more unto the breach." He went out the way a warrior of his stature should go!

    What KDF? :D
I was queued today a cap'n'hold against Klingons, using my FED toon. I entered map, and i didnt fight any Klingon, but 10 Romulans, all in battle cloaks, i start fight one, put he's hull at 20-30 percent, he escape in cloak, i fight the other one, same story, if i disable his cloak, he drops singularity, escape, then cloak :) Where are the Klingons? :)
I mean, this with Romulans will destroy pvp, everyone will be Romulans, and going to search eich other on the map, all cloaked :)

lol , but u got the point , romulans battle cloaks are really unbalanced (and before someone ask i have one KDF romulan toon too )

and btw now is in fed gameplay section another "i want cloak for feds" thread ......

    imagine that

30 ships in 2 teams in one map , all cloaked , really fun or not ? first who decloak lost
