Can we please have the ability to cancel or remove Events in the Rep system. I started the Risian Pearl event but will never finish it and would like to cancel/remove it for future projects.

The ability is there already (You'll loose everything you contributed though)

There is no cancellation button at this time as there is no need to cancel it There are only 2 projects that currently utilize the event rep system, and is why we have provided 2 project slots. This still holds true:
If you are not able to complete it before the event ends, you need not to worry about it for now Having an unfinished event project slotted will in no way be a detriment to you at this time. When we eventually introduce a new event project, we should have a solution available for players to pursue and we'll make every effort to inform the community about it before action is needed.
Also, pearls will be around next year if you want to complete it then.

Actually ... there will be three .... Summer Event, Winter Event ... Crystal Entity Event.
And when the Winter Event occurs, I am sure that there will be 3 project slots to go with the 3 events.
And I for one would really like to hear official confirmation that we will be able to queue up as many of these Event projects as there are.
Because otherwise I'm not queuing up anything that I don't already have all of the inputs for. I don't see any point in blocking my access to a future reward because I couldn't gather all of the stuff in time for the last project.

I think that they might need to move projects to a fleet holding style interface just to have enough room for them all. Looking at the column in the UI, they'll have a hard time making more than 5 projects fit at once unless they get REALLY creative.
All there doing is forcing us to queue up project and then when the event is done were stuck with that until next year and then just because we need to do that one project we left to do before going to the next project.
Why not just let us pick free what ever comes up plus we can canceled them

Well, I'd rather have a Cancel Button now than to fear that you won't provide one and/or new slots in time...
I don't want to get stuck with these useless (they are now... at least for a year) Projects and not be able to start new ones just because the Devs were unable to get it done before the event ended or far to late in it...

For now, I'm following the same strategy as you.
