My thoughts on Omega Marks/Missions

As a player that likes to explore the galaxy and occasionally get into tussles with the Borg, I've often wondered why there are no new Borg missions. As someone who is working his way through the Omega reputation system, I get bored with playing the same five missions over and over again. I crave new content that will allow a solo player to gather Omega Marks and get some of the cool equipment.

I have a serious question for the Devs: How hard is it to come up with new Omega content, and introduce it into gameplay? How hard would it be to make a few solo player omega missions?

My thoughts on this are: 1) The time at which I play, is such that I have a hard time finding teams, and the teams I do find have no patience for people who's systems tend to lag out with groups of more than five.
2) I think it would be more realistic for a single ship (no matter what the level,) to face a scenario such as coming across a small borg fleet. One Cube, two Spheres, three probes, etc.) and defeating them gains Omega Marks or equipment.
3) After destroying a cube or sphere, the characters could beam aboard and gather borg equipment (Such as neural chips, borg appendages, etc.)
4) Failing that, maybe moving the borg adapted modules and weapons from the (gather 500 omega marks) back to an actual store so that you can buy them for Dilithium could work.

I think with all the races that can be friends, the Borg are the one constant that can bring people together and make for an interesting afternoon.

I don't see why replaying appropriate missions, or engaging hostiles in the appropriate sector space couldn't reward the appropriate marks.

The Red Alerts do this already to some extent, but aside from the 2x EXP Zone it's not very lucrative as players who need marks, generally don't need EXP anymore.

One of the many examples of existing content lacking creativity, versatility, and re-playability.

I'm sorry, I just got caught by you saying a single ship destroying a borg cube is "more Realistic". I fly the borg missions thinking that in the shows it takes a whole fleet of ships to stop one cube, and here we are with 5 ships wiping the floor with them. STO has certainly taken the "fear" (You know, the OMG! Its the BORG!) out of the borg.
    3) After destroying a cube or sphere, the characters could beam aboard and gather borg equipment (Such as neural chips, borg appendages, etc.)

They did away with the Neural chips and borg pieces two updates ago. I doubt they will go back to them.

I agree, maybe replace the crystalline entity with a single Borg cube, make them terrifying again, or at least bring back some fear factor to the Borg.
