I wonder if we will wver get one. There is coming soon, but as far as i remember this soon is there for quite some time. I think there are a lot of pople just waiting to spam thieir prsonal links avrywere they could for just few chunks of raw dilithium. I know this becouse i am one of those.

you had this back in year one and 2 of the game when it was sub only game top thing was after 5 friends had joined and got retail edition and paid for a month got the fed galaxy x

That is a possible reward they may wish to implement if they did recreate a referral program. I have seen some MMO's offer a % in store money for referred player purchases.

Do you ever have anything positive to say in threads, or are you simply just trolling? My guess is you don't care as to whether or not they did offer a referral program.

come on and think about it the first one was no success do you really see them doing another? and to thing about if i did or do care i will have you no i was on account number 2 referring myself because no one wonts to play this game just to get that galaxy x then the very next month ship was put on the zen store then spent 75$ to have it on 3 accounts and this goes back to the first 7 months of the game the galaxy x had only been out 5 of them months before going to the zen store

The way the game currently works, and how the community is quick to jump onto any workaround that presents itself, I could see people exploiting this big-time. Just refer yourself over and over again, create multiple accounts and cash in. Even restricting it to purchases might not work, considering you can still get 30-days f?r ~0.99 Euros.
i tried to refer my friend yesterday to play.
after making an account to log in, installing arc.. downloading the 12gbs of the game..
as soon as the game loads it says, unable to connect to server.. timeout..
he tried for a few hours and gave up.. uninstalled everything and that was it.
potential customer lost..

- small amount when a friend joins to STO
- a small amount when a friend's character reaches some milestones (rank of captain, rank of Vice Admiral, first tier of a reputation faction)
- a big amount if friend goes to Gold, even bigger if goes to lifetimer
- a big amount if friend buys ZEN the first time.
Yeah that would suck, and it's really loss on both sides.

Even with the last Referral Program I know there were plenty of people who bought $5 copies of the game and referred themselves multiple times to get the free Galaxy X - as that was the only way you could originally get it.
If the player buys something with actual money than grind (As I think the system should be), then one would get the reward.
I for one would not mind this system being implemented.
I hope STO get's better ...
