What's the point of this?

Hey, I was just wondering, What is the point to player's still receiving the Reman Prototype Covariant Shield Array Mk X? We can't complete the Reman Mk X set anymore, only the Mk XI! Can someone please explain this to me?:confused:

    If you run the mission as a captain you get a Mk VIII shield, and there was never a Mk VIII set. (In fact, the Mk X shield existed before any set existed.)

    It's just a shield.
