I love G+.

Not entirely sure why, but nethertheless I do like a feature where I may delete a reply to my thread, if I want to.

So I can get rid of unrelated comments, and focus on more related comments.

If this feature was implemented, what would you guys think, and do you think the pros outway the cons?

DISCUSS!
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

I hope STO get's better ...

You mean you would like the ability to delete any comments that don't conform to how you want things to go?

Oh yeah. Sounds good to me. :)

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

    LOL quite!

It may also increase the chances of the Moderators becoming complacent.

While, I would like it, I can see its many dis-advantages.

I've seen this type of system added in many forums, including some major ones I moderate. It always turned into a "If you don't do what I say on my thread even if it's relevant it's deleted" type of situation. There would be dozens of threads about the same thing because no one wants to be debated on, etc.

    So yeah no thanks hehe.
Yes, I'm that Askray@Batbayer in game. Yes, I still play. No, I don't care.

OP that would be a useful tool as well as the option of being able to remove your own post if needed but I have to agree with askray . It would be abused here.

Alot of my posts probably would have been deleted because I am not part of the

"PWE/Cryptic is greedy, evil and intentionally ruining players lives and incomes in various ways as well as making it harder to play for free" mob

So instead most of the time i just get flamed and or called a troll

We seem to be in the same sort of boat.

I agree with everything you say.

There we go, something constructive from you!

Yeah, unfortunately , that is probably how it would work here on the forums.

There is a compromise situation. Going to the game that cannot be named fully, WoW, their forums allow you to ignore a poster so you will not see their posts until you remove the ignore. They also have a like/dislike after a certain number of dislikes a post is shrunk and you have to choose to expand it to read it. After a certain number of likes the post is highlighted, so stands out from the rest.

There have been requests for this there, but it would not happen for the same reasons as mentioned here. I think they went with the like dislike as a compromise that works quite well.

You might start a thread, but it ain't "yours."
You're right. The work here is very important.

    Agreed.

The like/dislike system might be a good feature however, I don't see any disadvantages there. On the contrary, it may make community feedback easier to ascertain and reduce the need for repeated posts by many of the same opinion, thereby freeing up memory.

Or by members of a single fleet, but such abuse would be pointless.

if it be pointless to do that then its pointless to add a system for like and dislikes and as my friend just told me like not get abused so much as dislikes would

Not necessarily, it would give people a way to express opinion on a single post without having to reply to the thread itself, thereby saving time for some players and space for the forum servers. That's the same system used to great success in blogs and news sites like Yahoo.

Awhile ago it was asked about a like/dislike system and it was one of those things they said no on.

My opinion on it is even though I leave it on my forums, most don't use it or just don't care. However there are those that make it a HUGE deal and rub it in peoples faces, starts little "Oh well you only got 10 likes so your opinion doesn't matter" etc.

I think on these forums, having any type of system like that would lead to some trolling more so than there is now. :(
