the exchange itself is a great place. I love it. But not the interface. Especially when someone is not fully aware of all those shortcuts etc.
After completly equiping my Romulan ship today, I was kind off happy to have finished.
Here are some things I did have problems with (keep in mind that I am not a regular Exchange user):
1. Translation: I am using the German client. Maybe those are translation bugs but they drive me crazy. Sometimes item names were spelled devided, sometimes combined, some are devided with a - sign. And there are still some untranslated item names within the same damage type.
Wonderfull translation problem: I was searching for the Tal'Shiar Adapted Destroyer at the Exchange. I could nt find it. Every other player saw the item box but not me.
A fellow German player told me that the item box is listed under "Hackeev's Flaggschiff". So how should I have been able to find it?
I think the Ship Array tab under ship items should be renamed to Shield Array..
2. Sensitivitie of the input: I am not into typing long item names into a search bar. Could the search function be a little more eased up for us? I just want to type: "Plasma, MK XII, [Acc]" for a list of all available Plasma ship weapons in MK12 quality. Not every player knows all specific descriptions.
3. I saw that Mines do have a extra tab. Either include them to the ship weapons or put the Torpedos into the Mines tab and rename it Projectiles.
The Exchange is in dire need of an overhaul and has been for white some time. I'm really thankful to get the "usable items only" and new sorting features, they're fantastic, but the main UI is pretty horrible.
Out of curiosity, why don't you use the English client? From the looks of things, your English is better than 75%+ of the native English speaking forum members.

Thanks for the kind words.
Well to be honest, it's about reaction time. I read some novels and all of the comics in english. But when a book is very scientific like a book about biology or technic or chemistry, I need to read it in german.
And when I play STO, especially when it comes to abilities and skills, I always translate them in german and then I think further. And there are still a lot of words I have trouble with.
So I decided to stick with the german client because I still do not think "english".
But I think I should get used to the english client again.
The exchange is terrible as it stands. There should be ways to search for items by modifiers, boff abilities, doff traits and powers, and spell-checker type things that would be like "Did you mean Positron Deflector Array?" if you don't remember what something's called.
OK, I think I ll stick to the english client for a while.
Item infos are far more accurate then on the german one.
Anyway, one thing that attracted my intention is following:
The ship weapons at the Exchange are listed as
"Energy Type" Beam Array
"Energy Type" Cannons
"Energy Type" Dual Cannons
"Energy Type" Dual Heavy Cannons
"Energy Type" Turrets
but then there is also a
Dual "Energy Type" Beam Bank - shouldn't it be called "Energy Type" Dual Beam Bank?
Ok it's just nitpicking form my side but I think there should be a common listing.

Yes, it should, but it is not. I have never understood why it is not.
