Time goes on and patches after patches, my client crash count is only going up. Most of the time, it's by simply turning my camera around and -poof- I end up on my desktop... This is getting worse and worse as time goes. So, I am happy to see "server stability" in patch notes, how about some "client stability" as well?
It's not getting to the point of being a gameplay breaker but the needle is sure going that way...
Most times, I have submitted the crash report with description of where, what and how I was doing things...
If I log in a character, it logs in. The moment I do something that swaps my zones (move from one sector to another, beam to my ship, beam to spacedock, etc...) the character fails to transfer properly and then cannot be played. I'm a lifetime subscriber who can't play the game and our Chinese overlords couldn't be happier.
Let's see ... money spent on STO
$120 for Zen
$299 for lifetime access
$79.99 for Collector's Edition
$49.99 for the promotional copy w/ 60-day timecode 2 weeks after launch
Spending $548.98 and being unable to play: Priceless
Ok, stupid question...After looking all over the place, I just want to know if STO is down. I played all day yesterday and then about 2100 hrs Eastern Daylight time I tried to logon after supper and started getting "Unable to authenticate".
Almost 18 hours later, I STILL cannot login. I've rebooted my PC several times, and even uninstalled/re-installed STO (although it did not download any updates). Is this just me, or did STO have a meltdown?
I've looked through forums and can't find any "we've had a disaster" messages, and I did not change anything on my PC between my last gameplay and later logging on. What gives? And yes, I've put in a ticket.

also try to pick a server that is farther away so its more realistic.

Crashes seem to be holding steady for me, but they are quite frequent. This is new for me since the expansion. They seem to happen with map changes, or very shortly thereafter.

Once LoR came out crashes happened much more often then before. It makes the game more of a pain to play because I have a bunch of characters and when switching I get crashes. Also when visiting the bridge to do doffing I get crashes. That stuff rarely happend before but with LoR it happens way more.
I swear I was playing "Loading Screens Online" today because that's all I saw every time I did anything, I'd time them some of them lasted for 3-5 minutes sometimes and this was doing anything (not just the foundry).
What makes this REALLY REALLY bad in my opinion is both games have touted making money, yet when the claim is made that a bug is fixed, it pops up again.
(I play Neverwinter too and it was full of nonstop bugs today as well) and I have to ask the question. Who is in charge of the money flow over there? Because you guys seriously need some contractor work done on your code. I'm serious both games have issues at the same exact time and I asked them this in the forums for NW will this be a problem in another 3.5 years?
The bugs I'm seeing on both games are the kind that were there in the betas, they just repopup like no one has worked on them ever.
A month goes by when you've made the claim in the forum posts about a patch note that it's been corrected and then poof it pops back up again like no one did any checking so we're starting to wonder who is in charge of QA? Should you get rid of them and replace them? Is it a personnel issue are you not getting enough coders to work on the problems in both games?
And if these are problems you face, where can the players send word to PWE that we are disatisfied with how much support PWE is giving these two game titles??? Because I'd sure sit down and take the time to write a letter both electronic or paper to get the point across.

Sometimes my internet kicks out, but when it comes back, I have to close STO and log on via the launcher to play.
A pain.
Why can't we have a system that, if you log off for having no internet, you can log on when there is.
As for bad stability, it is bad, but I re-call season 5 being worse.
I hope STO get's better ...
