Ever since some of the vessels/ships got "emergency power to engines" the HighYield Omega/HP torpedo and e.g Gravity well, tend to be almost worthless.
The ships have no problem running away from Gravity well and the HighYield plasma torpedos.
What should they do about this issue, Im I alone to be anoyed by this?
Shouldn't they have thought about this? (stupid question maybe, cause they tend to act first and do nothing later)
Have you stoped using plasma torpedos with HY since this change?
Nothing in the game should be an "I win" ability. Every power should have a defense that someone can choose to take. So if someone wants to take EPtE or use an Engine Battery, isn't that what they're there for? I mean think about it, the first time in Trek we ever see a HY Plasma Torp the defense was to out-run it. Why should that be different in game? HY makes tractors useful.:)
And that's not to say that Science abilities aren't a little weaker then they should be but there should still be a take-able defense for everything in the game.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I feel a little cheated when something that I have been using (for years) all the time suddenly goes obsolete.
It's not obsolete, it just requires more thought to use and the correct timing. As people have stated, there should be no instant i-win button..... there should be in game the capability within limits of outrunning these things.
evasive towards target when target EptE and is facing you. then release your red plasma torpedo. should almost quadruple the standard speed. especially if the target is coming right at you quickly.
heck probably pick a few in PvP off who are at full impulse speeds if you get lucky...

I wouldn't say you're alone in the least.
While it was silly to have the mobs sitting there waiting to be killed, having them scatter like roaches when somebody turns on the light is just as silly if not more silly, imho. There has to be some tuning that can be done, some compromise, some sort of happy medium...
make sure to have the borg set from Omega rep equipped too, that way you can have two quick uses of tractor beam ^^
i fly an Oddy with chevron separation on my fed, so i have no problem keeping pesky ships in range cause my pet spams gravity well all the time (don't know when it was added, but the chevron gets the ability from the three console set being equipped; i know it wasn't there originally)

I wouldn't call them "unusable". It's just a pack of trash mobs they're a little less effective against. Even before the change, a lot of those targets were dead before any slow-moving projectile could hit them.
Those PvE mobs where damage counts (tac cubes, transformers, neghvars, gates, tarantulas, unimatrix ships, donatra, elachi walkers, CE etc...) are still immobile, sitting ducks.

On my KDF's I run a Krenn Temporal Destroyer and Romulan: Corvette.
Fleet XII, leach. 3piece HG, Almost all Purple s'hit. I can post my setup if anyone is interested.
By the way LOVE the corvette!!!! Better than my Armitage...
Yeah a while back they upgraded the NPCs on infected and cure.
Seeing all the spheres spread out, run and get stuck by the gate my first reaction was to make a super controller build that mainly used tractor mines which was quite effective in controlling but I lost all dps doing it.
The next thing I did, which may sound crazy, is I increased my aggro all I could.
That way I am controlling them to attack me, they are coming the other way and I keep my dps.
In using grav well I never pop it until after 5 km range AFTER I tractor them simply because they just fly straight out of it like it was nothing. And this is a level III all particle gen 130 power to aux talking...
My new best friend is actually feedback pulse, albeit she has the problem of over writing transfer shield strength.
So I went with shield distribution officers to make up for the shield healing.
I fly in hoping to get shot, because the more they shoot me the higher my dps.
I aggro cubes and gates and use their dps to melt tranformers and probes and what not.

tech evolves that's actually a good thing. what was op one day is TRIBBLE the next we have to adapt same thing happens in the real world Dec 7th battle ships were dethroned as king of the seas in favor of carriers. think those battle ship heavy nations felt cheated you bet but they had to deal with it.
my old 4 piece borg set ohh I took a break from game came back and everything was pretty much useless had to adapt. but I really think its for the better, starts becoming stagnate the other way and now we have so many options . I can build 3 tact Klingon officers all do good and built different way. a year and 1/2 ago all three would have been clones just to survive.

The spheres have a horrible AI that doesn't let them use their throttle or turn fast enough to actually use EPtE, so they end up hitting things and getting stuck on objects. Let them hang on the gate and go to the other side while they sit there.
If you want them to fix it then use their bad behaviour to your advantage, because they don't fix broken things unless it is benefiting the players

Whooo!!!... There it is... I thought the devs had f'ucked up but was not sure, and no one metioned/hinted that this was the case, but now Im starting to believe in major TRIBBLE up from the devs.
It did not make any sence that they had tested this "change" when they getting stuck and flying around like a drunk monkeys. It's what you said (If we look at the past) ... They do not fix problems that they create unless it benefits the players. Then is is with the very next patch..
Just look how long it took for them to fix "Full health Random death" In STF's, and I'll bet you a milion dollar that was probably only because players was droping like flies because of this "Tweek".
