What I would LOVE

Personally what I would love to see in Star Trek Online "and I have not a clue how you would do this" would be the ability to zoom right into your bridge to the captains point of view, like what's in Bridge Commander so you can look around "not move" at your bridge officers as they go about their duties and the forward facing view screen. Still being able to just move the ship with the arrow (my defalt) or the (awsd keys) and zoom out when ever you liked...

    I think it would be cool to be able to have a bridge view option while doing pve's, but im not sure if it would work with this games engine. But the lack of controling what bridge officers you get on your bridge would ruin the scene anyways. Back when they had duplicates of bridge officers on your bridge it was perfect! All mine are cats, and with out human NPCs in none star fleet uniforms getting in the way, I could get some cool screenshots of my bridge full of cats :D

    having not played Bridge Commander, I don't have a reference point. Are you referring to something like the opening special effect in the first Star Trek pilot, The Cage? Look at the 0:50 mark on this vid to see what I'm referring to.

    Hah, don't need to see the clip yesh sorta but as soon as your zoomed right inside ya bridge it would be looking from the captains point of view from the center chair (obbs the viewscreens would have to be a litl bit bigger) but the cool thing about it if you didn't like or you were engaged in pvp you would be able to zoom out whenever you liked.

    Loved your cats bridge, but where abouts would the litter tray be?

    Its only a suggestion, doubt it will happen...

    I do recall the Developers saying that this idea that has been request since day 1 is simply beyond the game engine.
    I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. :confused:

    There has been frequent requests to be able to pilot from the bridge of your ship. The difficulties are pretty challenging, however.

    Well, the short version is that your ship and your character avatar cannot exist at the same time on the same map (at the beginning of STO, if the server lagged, you would spawn as your ship instead of your character when you enter starbase!). When you visit your bridge, it's a separate map and instance which requires you to load.

    So, as it is right now, changing the view from your ship to the view from your captain's chair would be the same as beaming down to a planet.

    But, how knows what will happen in the coming years? All we can do is keep wishing.
