Allow cross-faction grouping

oowoonoowoon Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Between the KDF and Starfleet, primarily for STFs and content that both sides can take part in.

For example, say a Klingon player wanted to do some of the Omega STFs with friends, however, they do not have enough players for a private queue. therefore, they have to play a game of chance and luck with PUGs in order to have a chance of getting everyone in the same STF, and in a lot of cases I've tried with, it has failed because of how the queue system groups people.

As it is, there are not a lot of Klingon players in the game, so therefore getting a full group of Klingons is fairly hard. Adjusting the group system to allow Klingons and Federation players to group in a general setting has many advantages with how a variety of the systems are set up. (I.E. the challenge system not accepting other players unless they are in a group, or right in front of them).

So, what do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

i would love this.. but in order to do it they would have to implement a system to keep the wrong faction to join others missions.. like federation fleet alert/klingon fleet alert.

not sure if the game has this ability?
[12:35] Vessel Two of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 225232 (271723) Plasma Damage to you with Plasma Lance.
[12:44] Vessel One of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 1019527 (1157678) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Energy Bolt Explosion.

They could put an error message in place, or something similar when queueing, saying that all members aren't qualified for it. Isn't a similar system in place for people who aren't leveled to the point where they can do it?

levels might be different then factions tho? who knows it could be easy for them to do..

i wish they would do it.. it would make cross faction fleets much more easier to setup.

As far as I know, you already can do cross faction for stuff like STFs. If you use the public queue, you may see other people from other factions. If you use the private queue, you can invite the other faction.

True, but I was talking more of the sense of the situations where there aren't enough people avaliable on either side to do an STF with, most people like to do STFs with friends, but sometimes, there are not enough people to do a private queue without being one or two short. There are also other reasons this would be useful, such as where instancing priortizes groups in the areas where both factions are allowed to be in.

AHH I want to kill feds not play with them. I wish in the stfs now that make us play with them we could turn our weapons on them at the end. like Patton wanted to do to the Russians at the end of WW2 . sure they were allies against a common enemy but they are not our friends.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days. Ch'ar%20POST%20LoR.JPG

This seems a perfecf time to suggest my idea of the defector system.

Its simple you have a defector switch in the options menu that you can toogle on or off. Its off by default, but if you switch it on, instead of joining your factions ques and teams to join the other factions. This would change game not at all outside this, except your publically tagged as a defector until you switch it off again.

This would save the flavour of the Klingon Federation war while adding flexiblity to the que system and teams.

THis functionality is already in the game. You can see it in action by partying up a KDF or Fed player with a Romulan player, and then trying to share an exclusive Fed or KDF mission. THe game will give a message saying "Player does not meet requirements"

The fact is, I would love a system where KDF and Fed players can party up to queue for eSTFs, Mine Trap, etc. THis would be so much easier that timing every join requests.

    I am all for this.

Something like this exists for levels already.

In this case just set up a private queue then go to one of the stf chat channels to get the last member.

    It's an easy solution.
