The Replicator Patterns Project

For those of you who do not know, having a Chef or Bartender in your roster may add new food items to your replicator. This has been around for over a year, but I have yet to complete my research on all the possible additions.

So I need YOUR help to gather data on Chef and Bartender replicator patterns!

Please look at this sheet to check if you have a Duty Officer that hasn't been recorded yet:

http://bit.ly/RePProject

For the most accurate information please follow these steps:

1. Remove all Bartenders and Chefs from your roster. The easiest way to do this is storing them in your mail or the exchange, I just list mine for 100,000,000 (If someone buys my DOff for that price I know I wouldn't mind.)
2. Take a close look at your Replicator Food Items, there should be no food or beverages listed beneath Synthale.
3. Add one Chef or Bartender you want to gather data for.
4. Look at your replicator again and write down all new replicatables. For FED and ROM all new additions should appear beneath Synthale. Unfortunately for KDF new additions may appear near the top of the list, and at the bottom.

Please use this awesome form to submit data or you can always message me in-game @oddboyout! :)

If you'd like an easier way to look up Replicator Patterns check out the STOwiki page!

As one of the people who contributed to the page you linked.... (before it was moved to gamepedia) I'm happy to add whatever data I have. I habitually collect chefs and bartenders just for this purpose. Sadly most of them are commons.

You were a big help when we first started collecting this data. I just came back from a hiatus and am eager to finish it. I revamped the whole thing because at this point I don't believe there is a difference between the factions--the only variables are rarity and species. Now we also have randomized Romulan, Reman, and Suliban DOffs so we have something new to look forward to!

Last I checked Romulans didn't actually add anything. I've not found Remans, Acamarians, or Suliban yet. It would be awesome if Acamarians gave you Parthas. :D

BTW, are you ever going to use a heuristic approach to storing the data?

My personal observations suggest that, in most cases, you can define the replicator permissions that you would get from a doff just by looking at the race and quality.

For example: all green and better bartenders can replicate Trixian bubble Juice, blue and better have Aldebaran whiskey, all purple bartenders seem to be able to replicate Tranya.

Example 2: all Cardassian Bartenders can make Kanar.

There are several exceptions, one is when a species(such as Bajoran Chefs) has multiple foods it adds. Often those will only be available with a certain quality of that species. Then there's Vulcans(for a different example) who need green or better to make spice tea...

But the chart would be more compact if the "standard" items were seperate from the race-specific ones. Yes I know that it would mean seperating the data into two tables.

Anyways, sidenote: I'm not sure if it's possible to find Acamarian or Suliban bartenders or chefs. The doff species obviously exist, but I think that all the members of those races are "special" doffs and thus do not have the full range of doff specialties.

So I am idly wondering, what does one *do* with all these food items? I mean, I know consuming them on ground missions gets you some healing, but are there other benefits?

Not much really. BUT, not all foods are created equal.

The higher quality foods, such as Tranya, give you more HP for eating or drinking them.

Then there's tribbles. Getting the best Tribbles requires using certain specific foods. BEHOLD: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Guide:_Tribble_Breeding

Also, there are a few doff missions that require certain foods, not many, but a few.

I collect them because I'm curious about it. That and you never know when something useless might become useful.

There are now randomized Suliban DOffs available from the special Tau Dewa assignments from the Suliban ship. Both random Suliban and Acamarians are available from the Romulan Survivor DOff Duty Pack, right? I don't know if those DOffs only have the new DOff abilities or if they include Civilians as well.

These are what I referred to as "special".

They have different roster powers than other doffs of their specialties, and I'm not sure if they have any civilian specialties at all.

Well, I just checked on several chars and none has any Suliban or Acamarian Civilians.

in a somewhat related topic, ive noticed before the ability to replicate .. oh my its been so long, I forget weather it was minor and major ship repair components or small and medium hypos and shield generators.. But i'm sure it was something like this. But they were available in my replicator. I'm not sure why, and I haven't been able to reproduce this though tbh I haven't really tried. I'd never suspected your roster makeup would have an effect like this with the chef's 'n bartenders and it makes me wonder what other possibilities may exist.
