Threat Generating Sci Consoles.

I have one of the MK XI Embassy Sci consoles that increase your threat generation and I was wondering if anyone know what the equivalent is skill wise? On my Romulan I have 3 points in the Threat Control skill and im thinking of re-skilling and getting rid of them. However I still want to be able to draw agro really well in my D'Deredix so I bought one of the Embassy consoles I mentioned. Will I still be able to draw agro as effectively with only the console?

Dont worry about the rest of my skills/equipment im not gonna change very much, im just wondering if losing those three points in threat control will make a huge difference. I dont want to keep them because I want to be able to lose agro more easily in my Scimi since its really squishy and I dont want to buy one of the decrease threat consoles since I dont want to sacrifice any consoles on my Scimi.

Well, first, the +Th consoles don't actually boost the Threat Control skill, which adds both threat and damage resistance. The console modify threat directly and give no resistance boost.

I'm not sure how the consoles compare to the skill because the skill can't be directly observed, since nothing in the UI shows your current threat, which makes it impossible to test properly.

However, *most* skills give a 50% bonus with 100 in the skill. If that's the case with TC, then the +120% from the Mk XI embassy console would give threat equivalent to 40 in the skill, or just over two skill points spent (which is 36).

Then again, some skills are a 30% bonus at 100. Since the value is hidden, we can't tell in this case/

If you really wanna draw aggro, maxed Threat Control + Consoles and even APD Threat DOffs are the way to go, and sometimes even that doesn't snatch aggro immediately.

WTB aggro leeching/force attacks/threat generating skills that tanks in other MMOs have.

On my recluse, i have two of the MK XII's and i never dropped aggro once during the CE Normal when they were doing the event. Same during elite STF's.

The Main issue i have though is on ships with the (-th) consoles, they'll sometimes switch and i'll be drawing aggro instead of no aggro, so i'm really not sure what the mechanics are here or why the(-th) don't seem to work as they should 100% of the time.

Threat Control skill gives you hull resistence, that's why is a good skill. Aggro is irrelevant.

Hmm, I hope thats the case, it would make things easier on me, thanks for the info.

The Treat Control skill gives you a small Dmg Resistence, the max the skill gives is only 9.9% Dmg resist, and its not even a flat bonus, it also gives diminishing returns, so if Im running with 2 Dmg Resist consoles, the bonus from the Treat Control skill is negligible. And the point in making is thread is to find out how I can draw agro using the consoles, so why are you saying its irrelevant?

It may be relevant to try to be a tank. Assuming you can actually get aggro, even with all the +Threat consoles and maxed Threat Control skill. That's debatable, considering your Tac/Escort partners can put out so much damage that you still might not get aggro away from them. As stated, the game really needs some sort of Taunt or threat grabbing skill that Engineers can use to justify their existence in space.

Pretty sure the threat attribute of these consoles is broken.. got 3 on my recluse that decrease threat yet no matter what I do, I always get aggro.
