Looking for opinions on which of the 3 ships have the most upside. I've been working with the chimera with both phaser and plasma setups. Enjoy it a lot. Looking for something with more versatility tho...dps via pets, extra console slots, extra weapon mounts, ect.
Been looking at both the dread and adapted BC as purchases on exchange. I'm a tac player with a variety of boffs to handle either ship. Open to all opinions and views regarding both ships as well as chimera. Already know the basics of both...looking more for philosophy and point of view as well as interesting/fun combos to try out that I may not have thought of.
Btw...already have tachyo console to help turn rate on either ship...just FYI...
Did you set it up with dhc's? I like the idea of having UR scorpions flying around since right now the lowest aux power I have is 79 and not doin a ton since I don't need to run a2b. Makes use of all the aux I have till I get an elite warp core.
Also looking at making a torp boat of either ship using phot point def from armitage along with both rommie and omega torp launchers with my adapted maco 2 piece.

I run my JHDC with 2x DHCs, 1x DBB for subsystem targeting, and an Omega torp fore, with 2x turrets and Cutting Beam aft. Works well in slower PvE like STFs and Crystalline Catastrophe, but anything faster you'd be better going with all DBBs or single cannons. Even with the slower stuff I keep Emergency Power to Engines handy for the rare times I need the speed and turn.
Elite Scorpions are great, though I only have one wing of them currently (Advanced Peregrines in the other), they're quite capable of tearing into things.

The Armitage console can only be used on the Armitage and it's Fleet version, unfortunately.
For a torp build using the JHDC, I'd try the Rom torp with a fast loading torp that can trip the torp reload reducing like a photon (Omega no longer triggers the cooldown), and stack three or more Projectile DOffs, which should net you a nice stream of Rom torps going towards the target.
Dominion Dreadnought is one of the most powerful ships i've flown in game. Absolutely steamrolls its way through elite borg stfs, leaving a path of destruction everywhere. Def a lockbox ship i would recommend to any engineering captain looking for a cruiser/carrier hybrid, top notch ship.
What about PvP? Other than hive onslaught all elite stfs are easy run throughs with a decent squad. Purple project doffs have been covered for when I play torp boat in my chimera. Disappointed to hear about the photon point defense. Guess I may need to look into the shrapnel console.
If not for the set bonuses I'd stick with dual fleet quantums with THY3 and TS3 to switch off with.

For PvP, you definately won't want DHCs, I'd be inclined to recommend an a beam array or turret build on either ship. Asking in the PvP forum directly would probably be a good idea, but I'd bet they'd steer you towards the TSABC for a support build, as the JHDC isn't capable of slotting as many team heals. TSABC also gives you better options for lock-down and drain builds, particularly if you have the Shrapnel console for the three-piece bonus so that you deal extra shield-penetrating damage on things like Gravity Well.
After nearing grav well, I dunno if I would go that route. Thought of a control build using Borg mkXII set for free tractor beam...add in additional damage from KCB...throw in a tractor doff for added shield drain...then pop cloaked tractor mines...hard to escape all that...easier to keep cannons on target. Also seeing the sweet dilithium consoles fleet has is making choices harder. Giving turn rates comparable to tachyo converter while boosting all damage resist...not bad at all.

I personally like the Jem'hadar Dred. With the right set up,weapons, Doff officer and skill
I can fly it like an Escort. Love It...
