Are you like me? Do you have this idea for a ship just bouncing around your head? Do you want to put it out there so it can be viciously torn apart by others? You're in luck! This the thread for us, my friends! Doesn't matter what faction, doesn't matter how broken; if you have a neat idea, spill! Not like Cryptic is going to use anything in this thread anyway!

I'll start with three alien designs I've had in my head for KDF.

Lecherous-class Orion Raider

Crippler Drones lack a kinetic weapon; instead, each comes with an additional power that lowers the target's power levels in two random categories, in addition to the power draining beam Orion Interceptors come with. The low fighter DPS is intended to be offset by the potential to drain up to three subsystems for each Crippler. Advanced Cripplers have a second disruptor beam array; Elite Cripplers gain a Beam Overload 1 ability.

Pugio Defense System Console

The Pugio is a passive console that fires low-damage but 50% shield penetrating Pugio projectiles at any enemy within 5km. Effectively it's a kinetic damage version of the Automated Defense Turret. Firing rate equivalent to a turret. Additionally, the Pugio can be activated and fire at any target within 10km, essentially a weaker version of the Armitage's photon turret. This puts the auto-turret and the ability on cooldown for three minutes.

    Can tune shields and weapons to deal more damage and take less.

    Stations : Commander Science. LTC Tactical, Ensign Engineering, Lt science, Lt engineering.

    11 degrees turning rate

    The spartan class is made to combat not only the KDF but the borg it is a warship built from the keel up to fight.

    This ship is built to attack the enemy by using its sci skills to hinder , damage or destroy their opponents .
    This ship is for more command and control then mixing it up to help their allies from the rear to hinder their enemies while keeping their distance.

    This ship is built for fast attacks its a escort that is engi strong so not only can it engage its enemy but can remain in the fight longer then most escorts due to engi BOFF skills.

    Its a ship that can hit hard hit fast hit often and keep on hitting you till cry for your mommy

    So I'm thinking the Dimachaerus is underpowered, looking at it. 3/3 weapons layout, pretty standard science vessel setup in pretty much all respects. The Lt. Universal slot helps, but compared to the Lecherous (which other than needing a console, I think it's pretty mean), it falls short. The Pugio's flexibility as a self-defense or multi-target attack is another plus, but it just doesn't seem like it would make up the difference.

    Can I get some suggestions to improve its competitiveness? The only thing I want to avoid is slapping cannons on it and calling it balanced. I've already caved and given each one a Lt. Universal and an extra Tac console at Fleet grade, I'd like to avoid falling even further into the "Tac is King" pit.

    Energy Transfer Field (Mars Class): Team buff that creates power drain resistance and EPS bonus based on total EPS skill of team, moderate all power bonus to team (teamwide, +Power Insulators, +EPS, + power to all levels, the magnitude of these bonuses are beyond my experience to suggest) Exclusive with Co-ordination Beacon.

    Graviton Catapult (Saturn Class): Deploys a temporary Graviton Catapult that launches allies 12.5 km forward when they approach within 1.5 km of the catapult, generates a 2.5 km stealth field, takes 10 seconds to deploy, lasts for 60 seconds.

    Set Bonuses:
    2-piece: Tactical Command Facilities: Increases the number of allied targets that boosts Co-ordination Beacon by 5 and increases team hangar damage by 15% (non-stackable).

    3-piece: Strategic Decisions: Boosts team cooldown rate by 50%, reduces own CD rate by 25%, 30 second duration.

    Set Consoles:
    Disruption Field (Tactical): Drains the power of one of the target's subsystems at random. Distributes the drained power to near by friendly ships. Boosted by Aux power and Flow Capacitors. 2 min CD.

    Emergency Recall (Science): Teleports all friendly hangar craft to 3 km behind you or if targeting a teammate, moves them to 3 km behind you. 3 min CD.

    Ablative Generation Field (Engineering): Materializes an ablative layer on the targeted ship. This ablative layer absorbs a certain amount of damage before coming inert. Aux power and Particle generators boost the amount of damage absorbed. 3 min CD.

    Set Bonuses:
    2-piece: Highly Efficient Hangar Bays: +25% recharge speed on hangars, +5 Aux power
    3-piece: Coordinated Strike: Each of your pets applies a stacking damage resist debuff on your target (-5% for fighters, -10% for frigates) for 15 seconds. 3 min CD.

    Unique Hangar:
    Disruption Drones: Launches 2 Disruption Drones (up to 2 wings active per hangar). Disruption Drones rapidly advance on a target and apply a weak power drain. After a certain period of time, or when destroyed, the disruption drone detonates in a massive blast that damages and pushes ships around. The damage and force of the blast is determined by the quantity of power drained (power transferred to the drone via disruption field also improves damage and force). Disruption Drones have a disruptor beam array and a chroniton mine launcher. 40 second CD.

    Support Cruiser Retrofit (C-Store Version)

    Same stats as the Support Cruiser Retrofit available in the 3-Year Anniversary Event.
    Costume option: Probert variant
    Special C-Store Console: Console - Universal - Temporal Transition
    The Temporal Transition console allows the starship to instantly travel to alternate futures and back, restoring some crew, cooldowns, and damage to the starship. There is a 0.5% chance of spawning an alternate universe future starship of random chance, including a Wells-class. All spawned ships have their full abilities (ie Galaxy-class starships can saucer separate, Wells-class starships can temporal backstep, etc)

    Shredder, a Ferasan Cruiser with seperation that turns into 4 escorts, Bleeder, Predator, Disembowler, and Due Claw, each with unique stats.

    The Cruiser itself would be tac focused.

    V'ger with Genesis Torpedoes, Geodesic Fold Generator, and a Universal Console that has the effect of a permanent AOE Jam Sensor.

    It's the next logical step.

    I'd like to fly an Orion Corvette.
    I'm guessing it would be similar to a Fed Lieutenant-Commander Escort.
    Problem is: KDF has enough great light warship between Birds of Prey and Raptors.
    An Orion Corvette "skin" for the Somraw Raptor with a few minor BOff differences would probably cover everything.
