Foundry Revisions

Looking at foundry, There is some funny stuff going on. Abusive to the economy
and also to the player.

I purpose the following changes

- Remove all loot drops from foundry
- Add static success rewards for Each mission completed, no longer limited Per conditions

Normal : 25,000 Ec, 150 Dilithium Per Success
Hard: 50,000 Ec, 250 Dilithium Per Success
Elite: 75,000 Ec, 350 Dilithium Per Success

Special Loot

Add in either one of two things

- % chance to collect an XII random Epic Quality Item (Chance, per completion)
- % Chance to collect special foundry set item(s)

Logic and reasoning behind the changes

First off, the economy is getting to much money from this location. Its really abusive
and prevents the players from going out and actually farming and enjoying the universe (making it Void)

Further, the Item cap rate is also making foundry turn into a 15-20 minute farming session then be ignored (maybe saver the role players).

So the idea is to encourage farming through repeated quests, giving people something to do, and continuous reward for their troubles, which stabilizing the economy.

Lastly, if a set or sets are added here, it will become a hot spot for activity, as it will be a means to circumvent the long reputation grind of the rep factions.

Foundry loot is where many people get their ec. Take it away, and you actually hurt the in game economy.

If you're going to post an umpteenth thread, at least put it in the right subforum.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

I looked for foundry, and did not find it in the feedback area.

Yes, I know lots farm in foundry, But they farm for 15-20 minutes.
no other game would allow someone to farm in 1 spot in 30 minutes
what i'd take hours to do anywhere else.

    Sto shouldent be any different..

on top of this potential economic inflation can arise from the situation

Further, No one really had major focus on exploring these, trying out
new ones, and doing them over, because they are on cap.

A stabilized economic income, rather then loot-based income is better,
and its more productive and encouraging for people to do foundry.

So with your idea I could spend let's say 4 hours playing in the foundry. I would come out with 4200 dil and 900K EC and possibly some MK XII consoles that could be worth millions on the exchange.

This is better than me hitting it once for ~500K (because of randomness I might get more I might get less) and ~700 dil?

I would see the foundry being farmed even more with that suggestion.

I would see the foundry being farmed even more with that suggestion.

Im really ok with that actually, i am against the 15 minute farming bits, that break game economy and make foundry worthless for anything else, while depopulating the galaxy.

Yes, But its done over a longer period of time. That is totally ok.
Not everyone has the time to do it.

Lets do some math for a minute

Lets assume that there is 40,000 Online peak time, for 4 hours (general gamers play duration)

    40,000*750,000 (Item Value cap) = 30,000,000,000 (30 billion) in say 30 minutes.

That is equal to 16,666,666.6 Ec, Per a second. (call it an easy 16.5 Million)

    40,000 *900,000 = 36000000000 (36 billion)

However, This is over 4 hours (using your math here) so there are 8 30 marks in 4 hours, so we willl divide 36bill by 8

That leaves us with 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) per 30 minutes on the revisions.

    4500000000/1800 (30 minutes)

    = 2,500,000 Million a second.

That means the economy becomes 7 or 8 times more stable then it is now,
while the player gets massive increases for doing stuff for a longer period of time.

we can even play with these rates, and reduce those values to 2 hours if people
    feel 4 is to much.

Would someone care to tell me how players having less EC helps in any way?

But your math assumes everyone is farming EC at the same time and does not take into account the EC values of your MK XII drops, or Master Keys sales and all other EC sinks. I think tweaking the foundry more at this point would be bad. As it is an hour of Tour the Galaxy (someone correct me please if I am off, as I do not do it) can net ~500k (I think it comes to 350k per run, with most people able to complete 2 or 3 tours).

And that comes I think once or twice a day.

You want the foundry to be repeatable and worthwhile at the same time?

Add a MK XII drop for every hour of foundry play and make it so that you can play each foundry mission once per day. Your adding a reward (possible a valuable reward) to encourage people to stay there and explore different missions.

    How do you report threads?

This is now got to the point of spam and trolling.

It's kind of annoying and doesn't work for everybody via the form on the website - so sometimes you have to send a direct email.

    This thread: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/announcement.php?f=128&a=51

Stickied by Bran all over the place, has the link to the site...
...but meh, it usually ends up being a case of just sending an email to them.
