Seems to me that with all these new ships being so much more awesome than the Odyessy Set and yet they still cost the same?
A least give the set a 2 piece bonus reward and a new costume like the others if you have the set. Let alone a few potential upgrades.

Not at all, I have nothing against the Scimitar
I just think that the Ody could use a little love, even if it is just a cosmetic upgrade. Think about how all the other new ship packs look now compared to the Odyessy. Just a little love please?

I'm not talking about the Scimitar. I'm talking about the flagships of the two factions.
I'm talking about the Romulan version of the Fed Oddy flagship and KDF Bort flagship which is not yet in game nor has any sort of information been given out about it.
So once the Romulan flagship is finally made real and placed in game, will you be back again to get the other flagships upgraded, loved, patched or otherwise made comparable to the new Romulan ship?
Interesting, I was just comparing ship sets in all honesty.
I always assumed that the Scimitar would be the Flagship of the Romulans but now that they have been aligned with a faction, they don't really have a need for one, but that's beside the point
And in an answer to your question, Yes
Why not? Surely if new ships are going to be all flashy then so should older ones. I just feel that the Odyessy doesn't compare to other new "set" ships as it should.
And I am sure developers have something better to do.....

The 2-piece bonus is the old 3-piece bonus and the new 3-piece bonus is an autocannon for the pet Hoh'sus BoP and Attack Pattern Beta 1.
Yes Because the Odyssey really needs it more the I don't know the Federation Dreadnought thats practically a joke.
Another ship, needed to be added into the list, but I am sure that will be addressed when the saucer Sep mod comes out.

Odyssey also needs 5 beam array on the saucer
Even after all that, the Scim would still be stronger on paper with the ability to fire 5x DHCs forward, battlecloak, fire while cloaked, shield while cloaked, turn-rate boost, etc
1- Some sort of console upgrades that you buy from the special dil store, that you need to own the 3 pack to access. That way you have to pay some resources for an upgrade.
Or
2- A new upgrade that you have to buy in addition to what you already purchased, like a FOURTH Odyssey variant.
I can see them offering upgrades to older ships. But the way they do it, will most likely involving more purchases.
That's the model for the game you now play. And hey, for those about to type out a "I don't want to pay for an upgrade" ... just consider it more of your undying SUPPORT for the game and company you love. That purchase will help keep this game getting more and more of this kind of development. And before you think that's cynicism, just consider how little development Champions Online has gotten in the past year or so, and you'll note it's not cynicism at all.
So yeah, I'm betting Cryptic would love to find ways to upgrade old ships. But I think they want that solution to involve purchases so they can keep their business model going.

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.

Though im sure its a good thing, shame that you cant really control the saucer section, either give it pet commands, or add the ability to player tray so we can use it on the best target.
It does not need a fighter bay, because it has the option for a single fighter that is more effective alone than TWO bays of the damned things. If there were any upgrade at all to it, give the Aquarius and the Bortasqu's counterpart a few more starship-like abilities (Anti-matter spread, gravwell, OR tractor beam) and bring it up to par with an NPC escort ship, or better yet, let the modules that affect mothership performance reflect on it in it's separated mode.
It doesn't need a ninth weapon, nor does it need fighters. The reality is, the Scimitar is utterly over the top for every element of content in this game, save probably the Crystalline Entity.
If Cryptic really wants to do something awesome for the Odyssey, tell the MVAM derps to go hang themselves and let us have the option of using the saucer AND the Aquarius together. I don't exactly see MVAMs out there getting ANYTHING done at all anymore, so their "special" status has more to do with crayons and a bicycle helmet.
If you're talking about the Aquarius, for me it always spends its time circling its target and not doing very much damage at all.
That's half of what makes the pets from a hanger so good is you can control them. The other part is you can respawn them quicker.
For these ships there really needs to be a way to respawn the detachments. Or lower cooldowns.
Is the MVAE still 10 minutes? It should be 2 mins, and if for each section alive it gets 50% removed from it's cooldown. Apply the same logic to the Gal-R, Oddy and Bortasq.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.

The MVAE, Oddy, and Galaxy seperation consoles now last through player death, so you can keep your favorite form all the time without worrying about cooldowns.
