Curious, why is the birds on a 24 hour timer, instead of the typical 20 hour timer?

Because if it were shorter you would be able to rack up way too many marks for basically no effort. With the event running for 50 days, if you find an egg a day you will be able to trade in your fully grown birds for somewhere around 4500 marks on the current 24-hour timer.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind them being on a shorter timer myself, but I can certainly see why they did this.

I didn't know about trading in birds.

Where do you get that particular mission at?

From the same bird lady. 100 marks of your choice for a fully grown bird.
