Good morning Foundry folks!
I have a question about getting contacts to sit in a chair and have it look decent. I've been trying to get an npc to sit on a barstool, but no matter how I offset the npc from the stool it doesn't work right. She's either too high and floats in mid-air above the chair, or sits on the ground with her legs sticking through the floor. With the high load times lately [:(] it is getting annoying trying to get this npc to sit properly!
So, my question is this: Is there a combination of Foundry assets + contact animations that works to get an npc to sit and not look silly, or is this a lost cause?

The problem is, the object doesnt have a tightly defined area that is its outer boundary, in fact this boundary is pretty much larger than the object in question. Couple that with an unknown value of what the boundary of a sitting npc is, and you get npc that float inches above a seat.
The only way to fix it really is to get the art people to fix it, if its possible
I kind of figured it had something to do with the collision box being an actual "box" that surrounded the entire chair. I just wasn't sure if they'd made some of the chairs with tighter tolerances or not.
@greendragon: Sorry, I'd already changed the whole thing to a standing npc and didn't want to go through the hassle of switching it back, so...no snappies for you! :P
Kind of makes me that they were sloppy on the collision boxes for chairs. Shortening the box so it aligns with the seating surface should have been done with all the chairs, imho, and then allow the author to worry about clipping.
Oh well...I guess I'll just have a lot of sore npc feet to rub later since they cannot sit! :eek:

...but if I remember correctly it was something like "barstool 001". I think it was the only solo barstool available (but I could be wrong).
As far as the sitting animation used...I don't have a clue. I do remember that the npc would lean forward, place their hands on their thighs, and then lean back and place their hands behind themselves as if leaning back on the chair.
When I get home I will fire up the Foundry and get you the actual names.
