Breen Transphasic Cluster Torpedo

I currently PvE only. I completed the mission Out In The Cold at a lesser rank than Admiral and received the Breen Transphasic Cluster Torpedo. At the time, I didn't understand its potential and set it aside. As an Admiral, I've experimented with it, and like what I see. The problem for me is, it is tuned to the lesser rank.

I'd like to run the mission again and get a BTCT at Admiral rank. Does the game allow for that on a repeat run? Is the reward a "one per customer" reward, that is, do I have to delete the current BTCT in order to acquire another at a higher rank? Might it be possible to have more than one in possession and installed?

The Breen Transphasic Cluster Torp is not a "One per character" reward, you can have as many as you want. Also, it should be stated that the little "infinity" symbol at the bottom right of the image for the torpedo means that if you are say Rear Admiral Upper Half, you'll still be able to use the exact same torpedo as Vice Admiral. It's basically auto-leveling.

You can replay as often as you like and combine them on the same ship if you want. One of my chars has 2 on a cruiser and a 3rd on a runabout...

Only time something is limited like that is if it says unique per character or something.

I run one fore and aft with 2-pieces from the Breen set for the Transphasic bonus damage on one of my science captains and they can really dish out some massive damage if you time it right. Great on a shield stripping build as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try this out as soon as I get my Rommie and Reman maxed out.

It's one of the more hilarious weapons in the game. It's particularly lethal in PvP but it's good for any situation where you're dealing with a shielded enemy. It can one-shot kill some NPC ships through their shields if you set your build up right.

Once you get to the point of loving its pure hilarious power, you'll never want to take it off. I took it off of my Odyssey to try a purely quantum torp build, and my DPS suffered greatly because of it. I'm going to have to change back to my transphasic build to make that toon playable again :P.

So basically it's STILL broken. Mines are NOT projectiles and should NOT be getting the bonus from the Breen set. Does it actually deploy the mines more than 50% of the time now ?

I pulled it off my ships when S6 broke the weapon.

    from stowiki:
    * There is a minimum "arming distance" of 1.5km for the torpedo to release the mines in a successful attack.
    * At the time of writing this (March 2013), the weapon appears to bug out randomly, making it very unreliable: at times it rarely ever works (cooldown starts but no projectile is actually launched in most attempts) while at other times it works perfectly every single time on the same ship under the same circumstances. (It may be possible such problems are not observed by everybody)

AND stowiki claims the transphasic compressor AND variable geometry detonators boost damage.

Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG

I'm apparently one of the lucky ones. So far, I've not encountered the problems you've highlighted, though I've probably jinxed myself for declaring this.
