Can we please unbind DOFFs?

Hey there.

How about a dilithium charge to unbind DOFFs? To make it fair the dilithium cost could be scaled based on the rarity of the DOFF. I have DOFFs that I bound to my toons when the system was new and I didn't have the knowledge I have now.

If you can't unbind them completely then how about a dilithium cost to change them from bound to character to bound to account?

Send them to the grinder and sell the scraps. Hey, sometimes you come out making more ECs. Example, shred a VR med doff, and get a blue technician and refugee.

Does this work? I was unable to use locked doffs to upgrade; don't see why I'd be able to use locked doffs to downgrade.

I don't know about the grinder, but I do know for a fact that you can use them on cultural exchange missions. Over time I was able to get rid of a large quantity of bound greens in the Cardassian sectors, usually getting an unbound blue or sometimes a purple in return.

Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing some assignments which could eat locked doffs. Still seems like quite a hoop to jump through, given the hunt required to even find one of those assignments.

You have it wrong. Doffs which can be bought, or others have a fool-proof guaranteed way of being obtained (Ferra Doffs, Doffs from C-Store Packs, mission reward doffs, etc) cannot be put into the Doff Grinder. Any random boff that you got as a chance (Even Support Doffs, since there is only a chance to get them) can be put into the grinders. Being bound has nothing to do with it.

That would lower the price of doffs and that is a terrible idea.

That would inconvenience a few but benefit the majority. In case you're not a Trekkie, let me enlighten you to Spock's greatest lesson; The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
