i bought a cheap laptop was just wondering if it will play sto on max, specs are nvidia gt 635m 2gb ded memory,3rd gen intel i5 processor,8gm Ram,thanks:)
i guess it depends if your laptop is 15 inch or 17 inch..
i think it should run with 2x AA and 4x AF with all the textures at 150% and the lighting and shadows at high just fine...
[12:35] Vessel Two of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 225232 (271723) Plasma Damage to you with Plasma Lance.
[12:44] Vessel One of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 1019527 (1157678) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Energy Bolt Explosion.
its 15.6 inch screen, the laptop i currently use is ati mobility radeon hd 5470,512mb graphics memory, old i5 processor,4 gb Ram,it can run on med settings without shadows at around 35 fps,gt 635m must do alot better well im hoping.
i dont have a laptop that will play this game, my laptop has intel graphics built in.
but my pc plays just fine..
its alot less spec then your new laptop hah..
im running a amd x2 240 cpu with 4gb ram and a gts 450 ftw video card.
i have a 24 inch monitor and run the game 1920x1080 with those settings i mentioned and get about 40 to 50 fps.
im thinking you should be ok.

Yes I believe you will find it a tremendous improvement over
Mobility Radeon HD 5470 80 cores @ 750 MHz 64 Bit @ 1800 MHz
the 64bit memory interface must have been quite the bottleneck running fullscreen
I'll sell you some weapons from New Romulus. Never fired, only dropped once.
Even some of the supposed high end notebook video cards can't play STO on high settings. I still think STO has issues with hybrid graphics, because I'm getting about the same performance from my GT555m as I do from the Intel Graphics HD whatever I have with my Intel Core i7. No problems maxing the game out on my desktop with a Titan though
Hi, my name is: Elim Garak, Former Cardassian Oppressor
LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
My i5 2450 with a GT 555m running 2GB dedicated and 8GB system ram runs STO on DX11 windowed maximised (1366x768) with everything except AA maxed, AA at 8x due to a render error at 16x
For STO the CPU is honestly more important than your graphics card. If you have issues with that setup Id be willing to bet its going to be from having too many UI elements on screen. So large space battles, too many plasma torps, and more than 2 menus up at a time are gonna be your worst enemy. Fortunately you can work around a lot of that by toning down the UI on shuttles and torps and closing all your menus and such.

I doubt it will go full force without any problems, but maybe if you have the 192bit interface.
