The deflector is the best for shield-tanking, the rest are meh

Does it give any visual effect?
"You hurt me long ago; my wounds bled for years. Now you are back, but I am not the same."

    Yes.

The shield gives a nice warship gray hull, easily the best looking visuals of any set.
The engines have visuals similar to the KHG engines, meaning a blurry trail similar to hot air or jet exhaust (easily missed).
The deflector gives a yellow spike which cycles to a larger fan with Tholian details (think the Tarantula special attack).

So with the weapons stabilizer as the first set bonus, this set is really only good for fighting Tholians. But by the time you have enough Nakura marks to get it, you're sick of fighting Tholians.

What is the point of this? with a few points in subsystem repair your already getting your weapons re-enabled after 4 seconds. This should be a bonus to the weapons subsystem repair time not a hard maximum disable time cap.

    100% agreed.

And even if you have 0/9 points in Subsystem Repair, any human boff with Leadership trait (all of them?) will already help you with subsystem repairs!

Nukara set is darn crappy, really. Like the Reman set, only good for one thing: looking pretty (consequently, I outfitted my Tuffli with the Reman shields, just to make a statement).
