Hey guys, I'm a first time player ( Romulan Tactical officer ), I fell in love with the Tal Shiar Adapted Cruiser, I so I got me one.
But now im a the point ( I'm level 40 ) where I have no idea what to equip or even what direction I should build towards. I don't PVP much although I will try later in the game.

So my question is , How should I build this beast of a ship if I want more PVE, with a little PVP focus.
Also Iv looked everywhere * even skill planner site * Where Can I find a good Skill setup for a tactical officer, I feel lost with how many options there are to building my character. :/

I really need some help ._.

The Ship should be in a lock box in you inventory. Just Double click to open it and will bring up the naming process like ships you get at level up. Then to select the ship go to the shipyards at either New Rom or the Flotilla or you allies bases and then go to select ship and should be there waiting for you select it like have been doing for you free ships at each rank.

    Hope this helps

    1) Do you prefer Cannons or Beam-type weapons? Do you like using torpedoes?

    2) What play style sounds most appealing to you:
    a) Punishing volleys of weapon fire that quickly break down your opposition
    b) A resilient juggernaut that just won't die, and doesn't stop shooting back
    c) Powers which subdue and paralyze your enemies, and heal your allies, giving you control over the battlefield.
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.

I fly this ship on my main and really do love it, its quite a capable cruiser.

You need to decide what weapon system you want Beams or cannons. Personally I went with beams as I find it light on tac slots for cannon use.

From there I went with an aux 2 bat build with 2x the aux 2 bat skill. do a google search or have a gander at the ship builds and mechanics section of the forum, its a little expensive to get going because of the doffs but you can start with blue or green and then start farming the repeatable chain in btran cluster for the purple ones once you hit 50.

One thing you have to remember is that it has a universal cmd boff. So there it can fill a few roles if need be. But this ship seems to be best used as a tank. Its set bonuses + borg 2 piece, putting a cmd engi in with that lt cmd sci oozes tank.

That being said, for pve/stfs, I would use the cmd uni for a tac boff and give it the dhc/turret set up.

For pvp, I would go 6 beam/kcb/1 torp (ferengi missile being a good choice for a full broadside) and go full on tank with a cmd engi. Its not as hard hitting, but it can keep itself alive and throw out heals too.

Personally I am glad I put my reman engi into this ship. I can generally keep my weapons and shield power up at 125, with aux hitting around 100 without breaking too much of a sweat. Not sure how well a tac would do, and a sci can take a decent advantage of this ship, but I feel it was made for engis

The cool thing about that cruiser is you can have it do anything you want.

The Uni cmdr slot gives you full command of your ship to allow you to fill any role you wish. I would prefer beams on that ship with FAW. In the end though pick what sounds the most fun.

    ITs a great ship.

I am using it with a Tac reman toon. I have it outfitted with polarized disruptor beam arrays and use attack pattern beta 3 with beam fire at will 3. You can then run a copy of attack pattern beta 1 with beam fire at will 2 as well.

Not as tanky as I am used to (mostly because of the Boff choice) but I am able to do most things with it that I can do with a jem hadar dreadnought or an escort.

Can't wait to unlock romulan plasma mkXII weapons.

and OP, if you like all of these, then just buy an escort
