put in instead an open map (like kerrat) that can only be entered in via a que.
only let people join this instance in minimum groups of 2. (this does not mean you have to be in a group, just that it wont add single players at a time)
example- say 9 people are qued, 8 would get in and that last guy would have to wait until another 3 people qued, or one of the first 8 leave the map.
heres what would happen in that map-
there would be a score board.
the map would have no kill limit.
the map would have no time limit
the map would have "entry points" where you would spawn outside the map, and as it auto pilots you into the map your power levels would be up by the time you reached the map.
heres the kicker-
there is no "complete -insert map/mode here-" missions, instead it would be like the klingons "kill x number or be killed x number" with one of those randomly each day giving a bonus reward in dil/marks etc etc. both would give a standard amount of rewards unless its the bonus day for that particular mission. both missions would be available every day.
allow a large number of players onto the map- 30-50 players a side.
both sides would be the "good" and the "bad" guys.
one side- federation/romulan/mirror klingons
other side- Terran empire/romulan/klingons
could even have random pve elements like tholians and their shenagans...
basically i want a perma kerrat with no map goals, with out a map reset and better spawn mechanic and unlimited fun.

Hell if they spread out far enough PvP could take on a whole strategy-game component where some players are directly the NPCs, co-coordinating the attacks or the support, while some folks are laying back to provide them defense, and others forming up attack wings. I'm giddy I TELL YOU! Giddy!
Perhaps if you gain control of certain facilities around the map, which can be captured/ recaptured, the PvE assistance becomes possible. Nothing over the top, just some fun things like:
And make it so only cruisers can do this work, as the cruiser is really the only ship with sufficient crew.
1.) (shipyard 1) wing of three fleet support - shield & hull heals
2.) (shipyard 2) wind of three escorts - attack runs
3.) epic siege/ mine layer juggernaut arrives if you hold shipyards for longer than 5 mins.
Perhaps even give each career some special focus that only they can do.
For example - only cruisers can dispatch marines to capture the base. Once secured, the science officers would beam across medical teams to provide care. While this is happening the escorts are providing them cover like they supposed to be doing!!!

id make a few changes, dont get rid of arena first of all. make this a zone you can enter like karrat, or replace karrat. everyone that enters has an engage the enemy objective. kill or be killed 5-15 times. make respawn locations varied and random, no camping. hour cooldown on earning dil or whatever so no exploiting. do this, and normal puging will have a more approachable location, more organized teams can go to arenas.
they could make C@H an enter able zone too, and just resets when 1 side wins. stuff like that is more approachable then ques i think

Instead perhaps have some kind of achievable farm in action. Say that if your team conquers the opposing like as in some kind of Cap and Hold, then your team gets a bonus for your Dilithium. Say it starts when you join in, then you and the opposing team are given seperate spawn and a "Warm Up" time. During this time you and your opponents are just pewing. Then the game begins, starting of course with all out war for control over a certain, or multiple areas. Then when the time expires, your time in said zone, or control over that zone equates your bonus Dilithium earned. Then a new "Warm Up" period begins with no need for reset. Kills, Deaths, Time in Zone, and even your teams Control over the zone could factor into your Dilithium bonus.
Seems like this is more or less a clarification on your already existing idea, but hey... its PvP, so this will happen after Galaxy-X gets saucer sep... and after Klinks get the same attention as feds...

im legitimately trying to ruin (debug, balance) the valdor console for all the 1 legged pve'ers, so its not something that can support all thier weight anymore. expect fresh scorn aimed at us soon. its not so much pvp'ers vs pve'ers thing here, its the intellectually honest vs the intellectually dishonest, shameless, and most scum casuals this game has to offer.
Do not remove the Arenas. Some folks really like Arena and we should never hope to LOSE options, rather just gain them. That said, this is exactly what I have been advocating since I first started PvPing in STO.
I do think there should be a farmable PvE objective on the map, but definitely not one that resets the map. My thought on the topic was this:
All around the map are cargo ships that you must do a slow interact with to gain a point. Once you have X number of points, youget the reward. Can be done once an hour. My reasoning is that this will not only encourage people to come to the map for the reward, but the interact would require you to stay in one spot and invite muggings!
