JHDC Build suggestions

The above is my current build for the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought. I plan to switch one torpedo launcher for the Romulan Hyper-Plasma, a turret for the KCB, and will equip elite scorpions when my reputation permits it. The rest of my gear I will update as reputation and EC become available.

    A JHDC on a budget?
IMO if you are grinding rep, cannons are superior to torps. I can sort of see how plasma torps seem like an ok idea, but the dread would have more DPS with 4 energy consoles and maby one torp. Go with 4x DHCs and 3x turrets, or 3x DHC and a torp with 3x turrets.

    Bridge Officers:
    TT CSV APO APO
    TT CSV
    EptW EptS AxSIF
    TSS HE
    PH

    Duty Officers:
    3x Blue Damage Control Engineers
2x Blue Shield Officers (Brace for Impact)

    Devices:
    Turret, Aux Batt, Eng Batt

    Consoles:
Engineering: Dominion Cmd (Swap for Zero Point), Monotanium, 2x Neutronium
    Science: 2x Field Generators
    Tactical: 4x Plasma Infusers

    Equipment:
    Assimilated Deflector
    Assimilated Engines
Overcharged Warp Core: W to S (your fighters and almost all your heals are Aux based)
Cap x2, Pla Covariant or Resilient Shield Array or MACO Shield

    Hangar:
    Basic Peregrines until Elite Scorpions

This is far from an ideal build, but an Aux2Batt build is expensive. IMO, get the Duty Officers first, then the Field Generators. At the same time, get the Borg Deflector, Borg Engines, and MACO shield. Mk X is fine due to costs and rep grind. Only use the Zero-Point console when you get the Hyper-Plasma. Oh and if you get the MACO shield, do not use plasmonic leech: the MACO proc overrides the Leech and does not stack with Leech. Once you get enough EC, switch to an Aux2Batt build (Btran Cluster Colonization rewards Ax2B technicians).

Aren't the JH Frigates more powerful than the Scorpions, I've seen them in ESTF's flying around and nothing is left shielded.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Yeah... But he's now strapped for resources after buying a ~70 Mil EC/800 Lobi ship, I don't think he can pony up for the 200+ Mil Jem'Hadar Bugship requirement to be able to buy those hangars.

Aux2bat isn't any more expensive than a traditional build, provided you're willing to do the B'Tran chain. Might as well do Delta Volanis for the doctor as well since 1 blue advisor/diplomat and the rest DV doctors will give ya a 32% chance of getting a purple tech.

There's a warp theorist as well, but I forget which chain awards him.

If you do go Aux2Bat, you want to keep the Dominion Command Interface because Aux2Bat reduces it from a 2 minute cooldown, to 45 seconds. It not only adds a DR debuff, but also reduces the target's defense. 15% Accuracy and Defense as well if you have the Dominion Command Protocol console. Net effect is like adding 30 more Accuracy for 15 seconds out of every 45.

Here's what I use on mine.

    Cmdr Tac - TS1, TS2, FAW3, APB3
    Lt Tac - TT1, APB1
    LtCmdr Eng - EptW1, Aux2Bat, EptS3
    Lt Eng - ET1, Aux2Bat
    Ens Sci - HE1
Front - Spiral Wave Disruptors x3, Wide-Angle Quantum Torpedo
Aft - Spiral Wave Disruptors x3

Eng Consoles - Neutronium MKXII, Dominion Command Interface, Zero Point, Tachyometric
Sci Consoles - Dominion Command Protocol, Assimilated
Tac Consoles - 4 x Disruptor Coil MKXII

Warp Core - Field Stabilization MKXII EPS, S->E. My shields are capped at 130, so I get a bigger boost to engines than if I had W->E. It's also cheaper. ;)

When I run DHCs, I swap to,

    Cmdr Tac - TS1, CRF1, APO1, APO3
    Lt Tac - TT, CSV1

Front - 3 MKXII Disruptor DHCs, Acc, CrtD, CrtH + Quantum (see below)
Aft - 2 MKXII Disruptor Turrets, Acc, CrtD, CrtH, Cutting Beam

I change the launcher to a MKXII Borg Quantum if I'm running ESTFs, or a MKXII Acc, CrtD, CrtH Quantum if I'm running something else.

    For DOFFs I use,

    Purple Technician x 3
    Dlyrene (10% vs Borg)
Exocomp for the 10% damage boost when using weapon batteries.

For hangars, any fighter with torpedo launchers is good. Set them to intercept and they'll spam their torpedoes and attack any target attacking you, including enemy torpedoes and fighters.

http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=inputsnewdreadcarrier_0 That is how i have mine setup with the Aux2bat build :) Mind you i use DEM2 with Francis Dulmur which isnt cheap,so its possible you can drop DEM2 for something else.

My build; it's basically focussed around being long-range beam artillery. No point in trying to bring cannons to bear on such a slow ship, imo.
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.

I did not know you needed the Bug ship to use the Hanger frigate, I just thought you purchased them with Dilithium.

Wait until you get the Best Scorpions and use them.
