I have two questions that probably should be in two posts, but as they're for a single build I thought to put it here:
As context: I love playing my Sci captain, although I hunger for all the DPS this character can get short of remaking her into a Tac officer. She currently flies a Mobius tempral escort (with the combo tipler+manheim consoles), sometimes alternating with the Chimera. As much as I love DPS, I do like having some Sci BOs for CC such as gravity well.
Question 1: I've been using the Temporal Disruption device (torpedo) from the Temporal warfare set (I have the whole set if needed) and use low BO levels of torpedo spread and torpedo yield to augment it. Is there a better torpedo to use? This is supplementing the damage I put out with polarized disruptor cannons and turrets and the rest of my TAC BO abilities go to augmenting that. Perhaps a 4th cannon or would that be too much of an end drain?
Question 2: The mobius and chimera are awsome ships, but they're only +10 to weapons. i'm thinking of moving to an escort that is +15 weapons, but would like to keep as many Sci BOs as I can. Is there a better ship for me? The Armitage or Vesta?
Resource is not really an issue - I don't mind grinding harder for stuff or putting up a few $$$ for zen filling in dilitium gaps.
But i use TSS1 Instead Sci Team and put a Tachyon Beam 2 in.
It does around 7000-8000 DPS on ise. Aux is most time 115 and Buffed 130. Weapons all time 125. Shield and Engines around 100 while buffed.
In Vesta was the Damageoutput better. ~9000 DPS. But i dont like the Vesta. This ship is boring. And it has a not Enough Sci Abilitys with Lt.Cdmr. Tac.
As a science captain, you could choose to fly an all-torpedo boat with 3 Purple Projectile Weapon Doffs. That way you can max out your aux-based powers without sacrificing the effectiveness of your weapons.
This was a build I was thinking up. You could change some of the universal Boffs slots based on your preference or situation (Grav Well intead of FBP for PvE). The Ferengi Missile is only around to keep triggering the Doff cooldown proc to keep the longer reloading torps firing, though you could accomplish the same thing with maybe 2 photons.
This build is very close to how I fly my Wells class, and that performs particularly well (no pun intended). Without worrying about weapons power, I can keep Aux at 130 and Shields at 125 virtually 100% of the time, and I feel particularly hard to kill. The Romulan Hyper Torps and the TDD have an unusually good synergy. Due to the sheer spam of plasma torps you'll put out, the Romulan torps will drop the shields fast, leaving a nice window for those few TDDs that are probably trailing behind. The Hargh'peng adds insult to injury, and aft torpedoes throw in a bit of spike damage whenever you need it.
IMO the Mobius is probably the most accommodating escort to science captains, and considering how much you spent for it, you should probably keep it. If you do decide to keep with energy weapons, the TDD is a good torp, and if you have the full temporal warfare suite, the Mobius can make the most of it.
I don't know anything about the Temporal Disruption Device, so I can't help on that.
For something with an LtC sci and +15 weapon power the options are the MVAE and the fleet version of it. That gives you slightly more turn rate, and a better console layout in the fleet version, but reduced shield and hull strength and a less useful boff layout. I'd stick with the Mobius.

I fly this Torpedo build and it kicks TRIBBLE.
