I am currently Lv47 with my science romulan and getting pretty close to lv50. I currently have Ha'nom Guardian Warbird which is great fun (Running 4x beam arrays and 2x torpedo launchers - feel free for recommendations on weapon layout as I am not sure if that is best or to have duel beams on front.)
I almost have enough zen to get Advanced Haakona warbird (2200 at mo and still waiting on 500 from cryptic which is taking ages for gold member sub).
My question is should I get Haakona warbird when I am lv50 and have enough zen or should I wait for possible future c-store ships including the possible scimitar.
Also question on the Haakona warbird, I know technically it's the guardian (which is what I am using) and the assault warbird both have good turn rates but on the specs the Haakona has a 5.5 turnrate which is almost as slow as the D'eridex I assume that is when it's one ship?
Also does anyone have the advanced Haakona warbird, if so is it any good and is it worth the 2500 zen.
The Scimitar is still a ways away, probably 3-5 weeks, so you need to consider that as well, do you want to wait that long for an upgraded ship.
The Haakona does get a turn rate boost when you seperate it, i haven't used mine yet but i do believe it's similar to the two individual pieces. The guardian acts as a support/healer and the assault acts as an escort just tossing out damage where ever it goes. Guardian also has a bad habbit of flying completely across STF maps to heal someone lol, very slowly too i might add.
I have 2 fleet mates that use the hakkona and they both love it. They don't put out near the DPS that my Mogai/Hafeh do but it's still a great ship and when guardian does a great job healing, when it's near you.
i enjoy my haakona. i like taking the assault section and letting the guardian go to it's heal thing
i have noticed it;s AI tends to stick on to who ever has aggo at the time or who ever is taking the most damage not sure if that's how it's suppose to be are just a random happenstance
I've also noticed that the Guardian section will sometimes just seem to float away from you. It's gotten so far away from me one time that it removed the pin I had of it on the screen. I think the AI for both sections needs a bit of a fix to get them better in line. The Guardian section needs to prioritize the player when separated, and the Assault sections needs to actually use the dual heavy cannons that it's listed with.
What's everybody using on their Haakona by the way? Currently, I'm using 3x Dual Beam Banks forward with a Torp front, and 3x Beam arrays in back with a mine launcher.

In the latest Ask Cryptic it was said that there would be an announcement about the Scimitar later this month, I assumed that this would be the devblogs about the ship and it's powers leading up to it's release. In all it sounds like the Scimitar is slated for release by mid or end of June or early July (I'm hoping it'll be earlier though :P).
As for the OP, I'm in the same boat as you However, I'm gonna wait for the Scimitar as it will hopefully be a fairly decent ship and possibly a carrier (YES PLEASE!). I'm currently using the Ha'apax and it's fun enough to hold my interest till the Scimitar gets here.

Yup. Though i doubt we'll see it in the next 2 weeks because of all the work that is still being done with bug fixes. I personally feel it'll be the last week in june at the earliest for release.
Thanks for the info so far guys. I might hold off a couple of weeks as I am enjoying the ha'nom guardian shop so far. .. lol 1 more level to go to 50 and I reached 2500 zen after cashing some dilithium in.
Duel beams at front and beams at back best for guardian or should I stick to all beams?
I'd say it call comes down to a couple things, patience and how much you loved the Scimitar.
Are you patient and do you love the Scimitar? Either way if it were me I would wait...you never know what the Scimitar can be. You might buy the Haakona and later find out the Scimitar was more to your liking.
When it comes to the Guardian Warbird...you can equip cannons to it...so there are better things than beams.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

The reason I have beams is I only have a couple of tactical boff slots so I got fire at will. .. also being a science ship I use the specific beam subsystem attacks.
Know Cannons are cool as I have them on my tacs mva
I use the Hak, And I have to say, its a brilliant ship, the Heal half, does have slight AI issues, but overall, Incredibly Destructive,
My Main Rom is a Engineer, and I use, Dual Heavy Cannons MK12s on the front, and 1 Bio Mo and HArp torps, in back, and 2 Mines, Since, the tractor beams are not OP :P.
Ive tanked 2 Jem Dread noughts, with ease. So, I have to say, It is an impressive lady.
