don?t you get free ship upgrade till lv 30?

according to this (in the bottom) called "Purchasing Starships" ) http://sto.gamepedia.com/Playable_starship

a player should get a free player shipp upgrade untill the level 30 but when i hit subcommander (lv 21) i did not get that, and needed to get it by dilithium (i have none)

can someone shed some light in to this?

And as i started my subscription again i became a 2gold" member someone in a thread stated i would get 500 zeen as a gold member is that correct?

might be newbie questions but it was 3 years ago i played this game.

    You get Ship Tokens up to level 40 (lvl 10, 20, 30, and 40). You should have "Promotion" missions where you talk to the Admiral on Earth Space Dock, or J'mpok on Qo'nos.

    Maybe you are trying to get a Fed/KDF ship as a Rom character. Those are accessible until level 40, but still cost dilithium. In your case you need to choose the Mogai.

    aa i did get that mission but it was inside a story mission when i was alone (dont want to spoil anyone) and it just disipeared maybe it will come back when i log in again tonight? or i just go to the commander anyway :)

    i am a Rom char with kdf as choice.

    Just hit L (quest window) and go to the tab that says "available missions". Look for Promotion mission and accept it and you'll get it. The mission should tell you to visit the Command center on new Romulus to talk to the leader (forgot his name) who give you the ship token.

    The usual procedure is to visit the Command Center on New Romulus and see Crack Head (aka Admiral Kererek... say that quickly a few times... and what is another term for the leader of your 'unit'?).

    You then need to go to the Rotunda (circular area with the exchange/bank consoles/etc.), take the lift down to the shuttle bay and see the shuttle/ship acquisitions officer.

    Note that the 'free ship token' is specific to your faction (i.e. KDF, FED or ROM) AND tier (i.e. the ship token you get a level 30 is for Tier 3, so if you're a ROM, you can only get the Mogai, you cannot use the token to get a higher or lower tier ship).

    If you have a lot of missions, the mission to see Kererek Head can be obscured, unless you 'Make Primary' the mission to force it to show up (Rearrange HUD can be used to increase the number of missions visible too).
