M41a pulse rifle - fun question

torgaddon101torgaddon101 Member Posts: 600 Arc User
for those that have watched Aliens (those that have not must do.. good for bug hunting).

on my wish list is a projectile weapon like this, forget not the T116 rifle is a projectile weapons that's beats the borg. (you see it in DS9 with Ezri)

99 round clip 10mm armor piercing, 4-30 mm pump action grenades...!!

on BF3/4 or CoD would be an uber rifle.

the +knockback alone would be worth it..

fun question only..

and as Hicks said..'it's a bug hunt'

But this is Star Trek. Closest we get to that is a Thompsons Sub Machine gun, against Borg. :P

I suppose it could be worse, you could be a fan of Mars Attacks, and want a yodelling gun.

You should ask for a Battlestar while you're at it.

Also the TR-116 rifle was a pre-order bonus, so fat chance of seeing it added to the game.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.

We have warp speed, spacetime manipulation, teleportation and zero point energy worked out, yet we still want to use such archaic tools as projectile munitions?

I think a tommy gun really should be brought ingame, as a zen item of course... 1,000 zen or something... borg cannot adapt to it. Frequency remodular would be 'reload'

While I love heavy weapons in every game, and I'm a big fan of projectile weapons, this is Star Trek, and it would make as much sense as a phaser pistol or a Klingon in BSG.

it has been 3 years and we are STILL missing ALL of these:

    http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0alb9bS71P9IL/610x.jpg

say what you want, that is se*y weaponry and BELONGS in this game.
and no the low poly Mk 1 rifle is not enough, and NO the Elite Fleet Rifles are cool but they are not the Replicas that i desire. So get on it Cryptic, you have the license to shoot TNG RIFLES, USE IT!

    or this one....

Yes make it so cryptic! Give us Mark 12 REPLICAS! With all the different firing modes! Also make them craft able, and customizable.

Because the Borg don't adapt to projectile munitions. ;)

there are projectile weapons in Star Trek, and they are canon. The TR-116 as mentioned above by the OP.

the TR-116 rifle can be found here http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/TR-116_rifle

apparently there was even a promotion waaay back when you could preorder STO that allowed someone who preordered it from Target to get the TR-116 off of the c-store. I don't know anyone that played around that time period so i can't confirm if the gun ever was actually in the game though.

but if it was, why not add it in as a zen store item again? i'd buy it for sure, hell i'd outfit all my toons with one to fight the borg with ^^

cryptic you know you want my money :D

we definately need the TNG/Voy/DS9 series guns in game.....ALL of the current phaser rifles look like comical oversized versions or generic sci-fi TRIBBLE...especially with all that holo TRIBBLE all over them
Looking for a great fleet, then try the UFP/House of Kular, visit ufplanets.com for more info
A forum post should be like a woman's skirt, long enough to cover the subject matter but short enough to keep things interesting.

I never figured why they were doing this. Starfleet weapons are supposed to be as modular as the ships, meaning a phaser rifle should be reconfigurable for pulse firing, wide beam or sniping. And their models are already very diverse - I don't get the holo-skins...

Yes, the TR-116 was a Target Pre-order/Purchase Exclusive. I managed to pick up a standard retail version at a Target a little more than a year after STO launch. And yes, I can still get them on each Character, regardless of Faction, in my account. It is a unique-bound Item, but it has it's uses.

Will we see it as a purchasable item? Hard to say. It, the Red Matter Capacitor, and the Unique Mk II Armor from the Digital Deluxe Pack are not available on the C-Store. I would imagine there's contractuals involved.

    Thank you for the time...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

You are right STO is missing a dozen of weapons from Star Trek. But the newest weapon added to STO is the Romulan Plasma Piercing Beam Rifle, it can fire forever, it is closely like the Thompson.
