Removed Loot Drops from STF's rewards?

So they are trying this again. I said it once and I will say it again. I depend on STF loot rewards (Rewarded at the end of the Battle with the Omega Points, Dilithium, Neural Processor), for EC. Not everyone has allot of money to spend to get energy credits. Even if there are other event's to play for gear drops, I barely make the rolls on them.

Now with this new game play style set up, nerfs to Leadership and Hull Regen, Enemy's zipping around causing players to chase them like chicken's with their heads cut off, now this? . . . I am on the very verge of just walking away from this game for good. No surprise the Dev's are &*#$ing things up.

Very nice sugar coating the Hud looks, added Traits, all the while in the back ground we are losing those things which we found STO enjoyable. This is just TRIBBLE!

    What are you smoking?

    NPCs drop more and better rewards than before (including STFs), not to mention you still get dilitihum, omega marks, and BNPs, there are also more ways to get dilithium than before.

    After the update Ive been rolling in ECs and I haven't even been farming.

    Also if you want items roll need on everything immediately as it comes up, that helps.

    The nerfs to leadership were needed as they were bugged giving people perma hazard emitters 1, and while the EPtE changes were kind of dumb they don't suddenly break the game.

    There is a chance to get extra BNPs instead of an item - I presume this is what happened..


    ..I do wish you could exchange BNPs for omega marks though

    I haven't seen any problems with STF loot drops at the end. I've been getting blue and purple MKXIIs like crazy. I made around 3mil in drops last night. I even got a very nice blue MKXI Overcharged warp core for my Vesta. You may just be the victim of the RNG, which happens sometimes.

    I've seen a couple of people complaining about this and I want to know: what version of STO are you guys playing? I'm all for complaining; but at least complain about the many things that don't work in the game... I've been doing a bunch of elite STFs with my new Reman; so far I've completed 20 (all space) and I've gotten several million EC from loot sold directly to vendor and a couple more millions from loot sold on the exchange. I also have 63 BNPs, which comes out to about 3 per STF run. Maybe someone's not picking up their loot at the end?

    Now the stupid spheres/raptors/BoPs zipping all over the place; that is annoying. Does it break the game? Not even close... If anything, it makes the STFs a bit more challenging. Still wish they'd finally stomp the mythical invisible one-shots they've claimed to have gotten rid of several times (and which some people still keep claiming never happened at all).

    I notice more common items are dropping but I still get purple mk xii stuff (albeit occasonally).
    But, I play STF's for Omegas and Dil...the drops are bonus to me.

    The Devs need to do something about the 1-shot-invisi-instakills and the stupid speed boost the Borg have now.
    I wonder which guy thought THAT was a brilliant idea.

    And I'll question what you're smoking. Yes they drop more but I have yet to recieve one purple Mk XII item. Mk XI Blues are really starting to put me to sleep

    I'd rather they remove the random loot as a possibility for the mission end loot bag and instead just have a chance at extra Marks, BNP, or dilithium. I get plenty of EC vendor trash from what the enemies drop during the mission. Marks, BNP and dil are what you need to get the gear you actually want. Heck, we could pare it down to just Marks or BNP, since you can convert all the extra BNP you get to dilithium. Considering you only need 5 BNP for a Mk XII item and you'll need to play way more than 5 ESTFs to get the marks for it.

    NOBODY. People are so dense sometimes, it was an unexpected side-effect of the EPTx changes.

    Borg ships have ALWAYS had emergency to engines 2, it just goes to show how pointless the ability was before. Now they've made it a useful ability it's screwed up the dynamics of STFs. I made a post about this, and I keep changing my mind how I feel about it.

    I think they should give borg EPTS2 instead, but people would complain that they're too hard and need a nerf. Same thing with EPTW2, and EPTA2 is useless.

    I want borg that hit harder, give them EPTW2, leave EPTE2 on raptors and probes (makes sense IMO) and make spheres hit harder.

    Good luck getting that through to the playerbase though, they don't seem to want harder borg given the amount of power creep and borg nerfs we've had over the years.

    That's because when Cryptic makes them stronger, it's either by accident, or on purpose. I've been playing their games since City of Heroes in Issue 3, back when it was Cryptic and not Paragon Studios. Whenever Cryptic makes something stronger by accident, it turns out cool more often than not, but when they do it intentionally, they end up showing how badly they suck at balancing and totally overshoot the goal and just ignore it for who knows how long. They'll even admit to being caught making a mistake and still push it through and 1) hope everyone forgets or 2) just ignore the people pointing out their problems.
