Naming and shaming is not allowed

Is naming and praising ??

Can I for example say

"Madeupname@madeupname" is a brilliant STF pilot ?
Or not?

If not Why not?

    As a player, off the top of my head, I would suggest that this be not allowed either, as it would, sadly, be quickly subverted into "Ironic" praise for insult, furthermore, some might not want their name blasted out publicly, and it doesn't add too much to the experience to others.

    If you wish to compliment someone, you can send them a private message, the recipient will get your praise.

    I doubt that is against the rules as the context is very different, but you would have to take into consideration does the player want to be publicly praised? some people will not.

    edit - good point about being turned around. every bad player would suddenly become 'player of the week'.

    And you have to remember, some players already think they are "it" and can just about fit their swollen heads through doorways.... if you start rubbing their ego's even more they might be trapped in the same room for the rest of their lives.
    How I picture a lot of the forumites :P
