Just a reminder everyone, I'm doing a full let's play series of the Romulan Faction on my YouTube channel the MINUTE the servers are back online with the expansion on the 21st! I'll be playing from the start to finish, recording every mission and uploading everyday just as I have done for the Federation and KDF factions. I will be rolling a SCI Rommie, and after that, I'll come back around for a Remen

Thanks for watching

As for myself, I will also be making a Romulan science officer, who will be one of my main characters. At least until I can get the rest of my characters up to the current level cap, at which point they will all be my mains. I will also be starting at least one new Federation and Klingon Empire character on launch of the expansion, as well.
I have to admit, the idea of recording Let's Plays of MMO gameplay is something that I've toyed around with before, and I may just start recording some videos of my own soon once I get my YouTube channel up and running.
Very good idea, and I will certainly do that, I'll record the KDF stuff that's new, and the Federation stuff as well.

I'm currently watching your "Let's Play Star Trek Online - [Preview Legacy of Romulus Expansion]" video. Infact, I must admit after watching some of your Let's Play video of STO recently, I was intrigued to come back and give it a try during the OPEN BETA weekend.
Played the game back when it was first released and after left after 3 months, never came back even after they changed it to FREE TO PLAY...but Legacy of Romulus will be the point where I hope all the ex-player will be returning and make this game great again
Thank you for the effort and initiative Doctor.
So excited, not far away now!!

I watched some of your videos the other day.
If I'm honest, watching your STF runs were incredibly painful. 20 minutes for a cure space elite? eeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.
You should find some better groups mate
Kirk's Protege.
Those teams were from the EliteSTF channel, heh
New players have come in, without knowing the tactics or learning them or practicing and honing the skill
I do my best to teach

Yeah it's amazing how far downhill that channel has gone, it's barely better than pugging now. IMO 20 minutes for an STF from a channel called "EliteSTF" is pretty unacceptable. The groups I run with can get it done in 1/5th of that time. I'm not trying to be elitist or hating on people that don't know how to do it, but most people show no inclination to actually get better. That's what infuriates me.
I've said it for years, stick a leaderboard up after the match with DPS, Healing and Debuffs on it. You do that (don't even attach extra rewards, just show people) then people will get better in a heartbeat. Everyone likes winning, even if you don't get anything for it.
Kirk's Protege.
Capt. Will Conquest of the U.S.S. Crusader
Hahahaha, good one
Kirk's Protege.
So on that note. I would LOVE you to do a video of "New Romulus" with all the Cutscenes, especially the "Arrival Log" and "Into" the Foreman gives you, but if possible all the little Romulan Reputation mission Cutscenes as well. Please feel free to do it with the new Romulan Character you will be making later today (once you get him/her to level 50 that is - meaning no "rush" at the moment). But I would love to get a look at it with your graphics package at some point (and it is like being the Passenger of a car vs. the Driver, you just get to look around and enjoy the scenery more because you don't need to focus on the task at hand).
Thank You. . .
Additionally, I just watched your "Romulan Preview" video, and (in case you have not already found this information) I wanted to make sure you know that the new Reputation for Nukara Marks can be gained by anything Tholian related, including Azure Nebula (it is one of the choices for that one) - also all the Nukara Ground events, the planet you need an EV suit for by Drozana station where you fight Tholians.
I definitely want to show New Romulus, I haven't had the chance yet, but I also want to record all the missions it adds when you complete each Romulan Mark Tier.
I will certainly maintain the highest graphics options the game supports in all my videos, I have the GPU/CPU performance to run maxed out, with the highest possible 8X MSAA as well, and will continue to max out all sliders, and show the best quality the game is capable of in all my future videos. (I do this with every game on my channel btw)

Not a good time for me to be making that purchase. But do me a favor (if it's not too much to request)- stick to the T'liss (free TOS ship) skin for level 1-10 - I just love that ship (and it's not an available choice at level 50, I asked, so once you outgrow it, it's gone, the "T'varo Refit" has a level 50 Retrofit equivalent.
Cheers
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Hoping you're still checking in with this thread.
Keep up the good work, I gotta admit - with the current Maintenance Schedule, I'm glad I can watch new Romulan Content even if I can't play (not a backhanded complaint to Cryptic, just sayin')
One thing I would like to point out while - you play, you tend to use the "Crouch" action (default "C" key) which is good (it adds a defense bonus vs. range), but try using "Aim" (default "X" key) which actually gives another 33% (yes, that is correct, 33%!!!) DAMAGE BONUS per attack. It also looks cool, you move a bit slower but it zooms in tight and you kind of "lock on". Keep walking when you do it, it makes you feel like a terminator or an assassin or something - haha.
I actually changed AIM to the "E" key so it is easy to hit when using the keyboard for movement, every time I enter combat I give it a tap right off and it's really devastating. You also have to hit it again if you are Knocked down (i.e. blown up by a grenade) and maybe held and such too. you can also adjust the camera on "aim" so it is where you want it, I tend to keep it a little closer to my character than "normal" view, just so I can easily tell when I actually am zoomed.
ALSO on another note - Thanks for keeping the T'liss (default) ship for the early parts of the game, I see it kinda grew on you as you used it - haha, but as the guy that actually made the request, Thanks mate.
Sort of... but mostly in High density areas, ESD, DS9, KDF First City, Nimbus, etc. I have not been able to beam to New Romulus Staging area since LoR went live.
Again, though, my computer is like 7 years old, and I'm running Crossover 11 on os x 10.5.8 (b/c Crossover 12 is os x 10.6 and better). Honestly I'm happy to be running it at all. But mostly it does ok, a little choppier than I would like and some graphics issues, and long load times, but Hey, beggars can't be choosers.
