Mouse trail bug

If you're like me and countless other STO players, you may have experienced a bug with a second mouse cursor trailing behind the first.

Not to worry! When the second cursor appears you can type /softwarecursor 0 to remove it. You can even bind it to a key in case it bugs out during combat. Hopefully that fixes it for you

Very cool, I was wondering how to deal with that. Usually I would quit the game to fix it. :)

Only occurs for me as the result of two things:

    1) The temporal TRIBBLE which causes me to desync.
    2) Boldly They Rode.

Can fix it by popping open the character window, going to skills, and just moving the scrollbar up and down. Could probably do it on any scrollbar. With the first instance, it's not only a case of the mousetail but keybinds not working, etc, etc, etc - so I'll usually pop the character window open and hit up the scrollbar before hitting respawn.

The bug has apparently been around since Champions Online and it was never fixed. *insert Cryptic-bashing comment here*

Am I wrong or you Bobtheyak were pugging with me two days ago when our team won in an epic Arena match 15-14 against the evuls? And we were also losing 11-14...awesome!:D

I think so. The one where someone said "holy TRIBBLE we won" at the end? :D

    Awesome! Thanks!

Prior, I was always having to open my options menu and adjust my mouse curser sensitivity bar to remove the trails.

    This is much easier.

Actually a quicker way is to just click the XP bar, we have been doing that for 3 years now, lol.

Cool, but I always have it disabled. A bind can be hit in the middle of the action without breaking movement either. :)

Not sure about you, but when I get the bug my main cursor lags out as well. The original point was to do it without having to move the mouse, but if it's quicker for you to lug it up to the skill bar then close the window, more power to you.

Since installing the Legacy of Romulus patch, it happens (100% reproduceable) every time I left click in a STO window.

Dont worry ,I made a bug report thread in closed beta.

its a waste of time to report bugs in this game.

Yeah its the software cursor suddenly appearing under the hardware cursor, hence one is accelerated and the other is not (Hence the lag)

Not sure why it happens but it happened back in the early days.

I always fix it by moving my mouse over a scrollback in options or the chat or click on it a few times. Always solves it.

it happend in beta...I remember a friend reporting that and getting your ship on esd bug ...both bugs still exist today ,though the second one is more rare. They should remove the stupid bug report button ,i find that more annoying than the bugs you report.

Dragging the chat scroll or the throttle 'scroll' fixes in space...
