Cryptic Launcher Auotupdate

Anyone else stuck on the launcher autoupdater?

    Yes. I was playing NW last night while the STO maintenance was occuring and suddenly the server stopped responding and the launchers won't update. Flushing the DNS cache did not work, rebooting network hardware did not work, getting the updated launcher does not work. The error log says "Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long"

    This game has so many server issues. You would think after 3 years things would change. Anyone else have this issue? Is this something Cryptic needs to address or is there something we can do to resolve this?

    Flushing the DNS cache worked for me. Thanks!

    If anyone has this issue try the following.

    Here is how to fix that corrupted DNS cache.

    1. Click the Microsoft Vista, 7 or 8 Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Accessories
    4. RIGHT-click on Command Prompt
    5. Select Run As Administrator
    6. In the command window type the following and then hit enter: ipconfig /flushdns
    7. You will see the following confirmation:

    Windows IP Configuration
    Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
