After the latest patch was done,i was confident, yesssss no more bugs.
How wrong I was, nothing has changed, and the mail system bug has still NOT been fixed yet again.
oh yes I know many think that's not important, but when you can't delete aload of read mail,it gets very frustrating.
Cryptic, before we end up getting the next so called stability patch, could there please be a bug fix patch as well,at the same time.

So I take it you like to have your Client crash or disconnect while your managing your mail...
With a limited size development staff, and a good chunk of this being used for Neverwinter, bugs and issues have to be prioritized against system stability...

If you re-read what I said,i said there should be a stability and bug fix patch at the same time. Cryptic should take the game off until the bug fix is sorted out.
If cryptic appreciate the player base, they will do that.(wishful thinking perhaps but what the heck)
stability on its own does not solve the root of the problem.

I agree with the post right above mine - they need to get the servers where we can stay ON the game before they fix little bugs. During the time I am playing, nothing is game breaking for me. YES there are bugs. There are some very annoying bugs. However all of my characters are able to do STFs, play the story-lines, do their DOFF missions, etc., etc., etc. . . . when i am online. It's being offline a lot that is annoying the majority of the player base.
I can see where they are coming from. After all, what good are bug fixes if the servers are offline due to stability issues?
Downloading exactly the same 100 meg cache file six times has nothing to do with boosting server stability.
Just a couple of points here. First up, the game-play bug fix guys are not the same guys responsible for server stability, they don't do each others jobs so complaining that "bug fixers are off working on server stability" is pretty silly. Secondly, the chances are that the 132MB file that is accessed and patched (yesterdays total download was roughly 98MB) is most likely the part of the client that deals with communications protocols between the game client and the game server.
Each new fix would likely as not require multiple files within that 132MB folder to be altered, since they would all have to function together as a whole. So every time they come up with a minor addition, it would require changes to be made to numerous other files as well.
It may also have escaped peoples notice that a new AskCryptic is being released tomorrow with information on upcoming fixes, and hopefully a time-frame for said fixes.

So so true. The team that does content isn't going to be the same team working on network or server stability. That's just not how it works. As for taking the server offline for a few days to fix all the bugs? Never going to happen and no MMO is bug free unless it's dead and buried. There will always be bugs it's the nature of online gaming. There is NO way it can be 100% bug free because, as we've all learned unless you're brand new, what can be fine and dandy in a test environment can explode drastically when it hits live and thousands are using it. You never know.
As for the patches, yeah it's just updates for protocols and such. If they change the server software to a new version, our client has to be updated to match that version. That's normal server <---> client design.

Once (if) that is sorted, then they will address bugs.

Hmm... Yes. This is a deep question. I wonder.... Nope. I'm stumped.
