Carriers

Hi all! :)

I heard about carriers and i imagined they were ships that carry smaller fighters; is that correct? And in that case, what are the ships that can do that? :)

    You are correct on that account. The carriers have small fighters/cruisers to your disposal.

    I have provided you with links to both

    Federation Shipyard.

    Klingon Shipyard.

    Klingons and Federation are the only two have direct access to Carriers. You are able to use some of them as Romulan up to Tier 4.

    if you dont want to check the links (also, KDF chart and Special ship chart arent working) quick break down:

    Fed: Vesta (1 hanger), Heavy Escort Carrier (1 hanger), Atrox Caitian Carrier (2 hangers)

    KDF: Decoit, Corsair, and Maurader Flight deck cruisers (all 3 are only 1 hanger). The vo'Quv(?) carrier (2 hangers) and Kar'fi Battle carrier (2 hangers I think)

    Lobi/Lockbox carriers: Only ones i know of are the Recluse Tholian Carrier (2 hangers), Deadnought Dominion Carrier (2 Hangers) and the Dominion Heavy Escort Carrier (1 hanger)

    most of the Fed/KDF carriers have fleet versions, only 2 i know of that dont, are the Vesta and Atrox.


    as a Romulan, you would only be able to use the Decoit and Corsair (maybe Maurader as well) Flight Deck cruisers, as the rest are tier 5. (faction wise) you can however use any of the lobi/lockbox carriers at T5.

    I managed to see all 3 of the charts, a nicely done work, very appreciated! :)
    Ok so I need to look for ships with hangars; how does it work in game? It's an ability i have to activate? They just get out and fight when I'm in combat?
    Other than the fact that i like the idea, are they viable ships for pve?
    Is it difficult to make them works, does they need some special character builds?

    Sorry for all these questions :)

    Mmm, I suppose it's time for me to create a klingon character!
    Does my profession (tac, eng, sci) matter a lot in this case or can i follow my heart? :D

    sci's in carriers with photonic fleet out get a lot of spam. whereas engies in carriers (true carriers like the atrox/ vo'quv and dreadnought carrier) are practically unkillable.

    I took a look at the suggested ships.
    Is the drednought carrier the one you buy in lobi crystals?
    It looks very nice! Thought I don't think I will be able to get it anytime soon :P

    TODO LIST:
    1. Rob an intergalactic bank;
    2. Buy the vessel from the Exchange :D
