Combadge shape?

Just a quick query, why is the combadge so pointy and not like the chevron on the forum avatar or like a metal version of the TOS badges?

    Or like my collector's edition combadge. STO went through several iterations of the combadge as many games do with their art assets. I would prefer something smaller and similar to the collector's edition badges. I think we're due for a change.

    also it looks like the right side is too thick, judging by the chevron on the avatar it should be thinner than the left side like on the collectors edition you mentioned

    The Collector's Edition badge actually looks like this: STO_commbadge1.jpg

    Size-wise it's about the same size as the delta on a TNG or VOY-era combadge, much flatter than the current STO one, and with a bezel around the edge.

    The delta symbol on your avatar wasn't used until oh... the third or fourth season update. It's okay for promo art but I don't think I'd want to see it in-game, unless it was an extra option.
