we were receiving daily maintance to resolve stability issues. as of 5/28 we didn't receive a maintance. I don't know why, we are still having stability issues. they are better yes but not perfect. not to mention all the other bugs esp. the mail system not deleting.

Those things aren't neccessarily tied to server maintainaince. The recent daily maintainance will have been to keep the server stability up and reduce queues and future downtime and what not.

The bugs with the mail system and whatnot are gameplay bugs. Now that the initial rush of launch is quietening down, devs will be able to focus their efforts on fixing the bugs. But it will take time.

give them time but also remember as with all MMO's they can fix one bug and fifty more sprout up cause one fix brakes something else that's why with the launch of LoR it may have fixed a lot of things and introduced a lot of nice new content it broke a whole new batch of things. it'll be about a month in my estimation before things really get running smoothly again.

Sadly, this means I don't get to play. My patcher is doing the thing of getting to a certain point and then it just keeps going and going and . . . to no end. This has only happened once before (also post LOR launch) and a new patch being available fixed it.

'Server Maintenance' is a catch-all statement used by any company that needs to take a product offline for any amount of time. It's usually IT related, or it could cover that they simply need to restart the various servers in their deployment.

Even big cloud systems from Oracle need the occasional restart ;)

Sometimes it's a software deployment, upgrades not to the product (STO) but to the server OS's. And even then they are often risky as a new OS deployments or upgrades may impact hundreds of elements you can't test for except in a live environment.

And this isn't like resetting your home computer.

God forbid it deals with multiple live instances interacting across many servers in multiple locales. Now that's complicated. Especially when people are interacting with it.

Now add to the mix a custom application running in that environment interacting with dozens of databases. That's STO.

So relax. They'll get to your issues in due course. Cheers to the deployment teams ;)
